Look buddym just wait for the DONE mod not a unfinshed version of it. Let solar do his things (i wish i could have the modding skills of solar) but just dont get it off of leakers. They are stupid people that cant wait for the fully released mod or leaking a paid mod. So just wait thats all you need to do.
How come it takes a leak for us commoners to get a sniff of these mods? I get they take a lot of time and effort, and that I'm not entitled to anything, let alone anything someone else makes. Idk it just kinda feels like a slap in the face to see these mods showcased on YouTube and in updates but then get cancelled or just forgotten about for years.
Look, these mods have not been forgotten about. The other mods are heavily in development and this one was intended as a surprise. If you do not trust that I intend to release all of them once they are complete, and that I am not intentionally stalling, then, unfortunately, there is nothing more I can say. Modding takes time. A lot of time. A lot more than most people think. Especially when I have things going on in real life, and I don't want to spend every single second of my free time working on these mods to release them for absolutely no cost at all (I have lost hundreds of dollars so far just paying for the BeamMP server we use to test these mods and find issues), then yeah, it will take a while.
I'm guessing you're mostly referring to Pawshore's COT mod, if you are then I can tell you that the reason that mod got cancelled was mostly because of how the community treated Pawshore and Jumbuss, either way you're statement doesn't stand for this mod considering no one has showcased it/had it in youtube videos before this point. In other words what you're saying is both irrelevant and just stupid
I never claimed you were intentionally stalling. Also never claimed this wouldn't get released or had anything to do with the COT mod. Just tired of seeing mods get shown and then kept private for a select "testing" club for so long. Just pointing out how this leak is the only way us commoners have been able to have access. Just how I see it. Anywho I look forward to using these and other mods in the future when they're officially released.
you say "testing" but like, it actually is testing... especially for wheel users like me, the early versions of mods handle horribly. The gen 7 only started being usable in terms of racing until recently in my opinion (I'm DMR, Solar.)
The only reason they remain in a testing club for so long is that they are not done, I just need to be able to test it as I make major changes. If I were to release it in its unfinished form, what would people get? Poor setups (proper setups are still in the works) so it would not drive well, buggy tuning, limited paint schemes, not up to my standard of quality for release.
I totally understand your reasoning for this. I guess I'm in the minority for enjoying to mess with broken mods sometimes. Makes me wish more modders would release WIP stuff to mess with rather than just fully complete. I'd say this is part of the reason I started my own projects recently (very poorly) and I've started to appreciate those who make them more because of it, sorry If my original comment came from a place of frustration or impatience. Do you allow people to maybe join a patreon to test unfinished mods or do you just do it through a trusted group of people?
I mean, I may do some sort of Patreon in the future, but that would only be for optional support/early access, no exclusive paid mods. However, I have not fully decided yet.
i dont care how many people leak this mod, im just gonna wait till its actually released and finished, i dont care how many days, weeks, or even months it takes.
