I finally did gears in my car last summer. I had considered 3.55s for awhile but I ended up going with 3.73s and I'm very satisfied. The stock 3.08s made the car feel so sluggish, especially since the 5.0 Cobras are cammed for a higher powerband vs the GTs. The car feels like it woke up and the RPMs while cruising around at 70 aren't annoying at all.
lol, to answer the question as to why change in the first place, the 3.08’s are nice because I can keep my RPM’s down to let the car be nice and quiet when I just wanna think about how much I messed up buying a Ford and not a Camaro (kidding lmao), but I know that the 4.6 GT’s got a 3.27 rear end. Now, I like long gears, but I wanna push myself and the car just a tad more, and I think 3.31’s would be perfect. I heard about the problems aftermarket gears give their unfortunate buyers, and that’s why I have had my browser all over Ford Racing the past while. The 3.08’s realistically would be perfect if the car made some more power, like if it was powered by a 351, but with a 302, a little more would be nice, plus 3.31 seems like an acceptable ratio for the time period, considering that the Camaro had a max of 3.42 rear end with a 0.63 overdrive, and similarly sized wheels. I do get made fun of at the shop for thinking like this though lol --- Post updated --- I believe that sluggish part, although I think they still move decent. I am thinking for the future though, I do want to make considerably more power, and am planning on a stroker in the future. Everyone has to buy a Mustang and get the experience. They’re the best cars for it. I have C springs, 3.31 gears, and hopefully a 331 stroker in the future.
Lol as long as you have a reason other than "I want 3.31s because 3.31s" lolol Obviously, do what you want, but I'm the type to never tear into anything unless it's coming apart anyway lol Lol funny thing on this topic that relates to the carrier I bought; It's a Ford Racing part, but I bought it off of Ebay and it shipped from a Ford dealer in Canada I believe... It was THE cheapest(new)posi carrier for a 31-spline 8.8 that money could buy at the time.............. which may or may not have been the reason I bought it lol. I think it was $220 shipped, and I paid like $130 for the bearing and seal kit, just to highlight the cheapness of the carrier. Back on topic: Nah bruh, I'm lazy af and got no time lol. (Seriously though, I'll work on it once I have a couple consecutive hours free that I can waste on the computer) (and not on a Sunday because that's my do NOTHING day lol) Lol there's your answer. That image does look sicc, and every part you can see in the photo is already in-game except the wheels. It would just be making a skin to match, so not too big a deal. IDK what that engine is like, but I can look into when I get to it lol.
If I could see it, maybe lol (Jokes aside, any "special editions" will be well after the main release lol) IDK about the kid I bought the truck from, but I always alternate which tank I'm drawing from every time I fill up, that way if I can't make it to a station I've got a whole 'nother tank of semi-fresh gas. ANOTHER thing is that the tank actually rusted from the OUTSIDE-in. Because of where it is on the truck it tends to hold onto mud, and the mud tends to hold onto road-salt/water/etc. The inside of the tank actually looks great, and I re-used the 30+ year-old pump assembly with zero issues lol I'm thinking "one does not simply make a 10.0L V8" lol... I watched a video about that car, it's a one-off that Jack Roush helped produce, and hand-built the engine for. It started out as a NASCAR engine, and I have no idea what block it is. He said in the video it's 604 CI and I don't know all the intricate little details from memory, but I think that's a tad bigger than most factory Ford blocks can be bored/stroked to lol....... IDK TBH LOL, anyway, as I stated above, and many times before.... any "special editions" will be well after initial re-release. Since you continue to be so patient and polite about it, I'll honor your request. lol get rekt nerd Here you go: Anyways, I'm sick right now, so I'll probably be able to make a little progress in the next week or two (hopefully[we'll see lol]) EDIT: Got the multi-UV-channel thingy up and running, it needs a lot of tweaking to get it nice, but there it is. (One material "sn95_panels" has the UV checker {skin} and the solid reddish {other metal}) I'll post more when I have more lol
Just updated my massive technical post, added mostly transmission related info. Haven't forgot about it yet lol
Thank you soo much! i've been looking for SN mod that isn't a race car for so long. I've owned 4 of these irl.
Not since last post, no. I've been working on my other mods that were neglected while I worked on this one. I'm also not sick anymore and so real life has been taking up my "modding-time" lol I'll continue to work at it, it's just gonna be a lot slower. (I know it's already slower than it oughtta be, belIEVE me lol)
hello! I have a really quick question. Have the tail lights for the 96-98 model been finished? I'm just wondering as i don't really want to read through 11 slides of comments. have nice one!
Go back and read through 11 slides of comments, I believe you can do it! Don't worry about bumping lol, I'm not a moderator. Anyway, yes it is being worked on, ...but SLOWLY lol I got kinda "disheartened" seeing the "Barstow IV" drop, and having it look SOOOOOOOOOO good compared to this thing I literally did almost just quit lol... However it IS a paid mod, and "lore-friendly," so maybe this one still has a place. Anyway, recently I had been working more on my HMMWV mod and I've also been working more hours IRL, so it had become back-burner for sure. I'm kinda sick of sorting out whacky little issues on the HMMWV so I guess I'll start putting more time into this one when I can.
dont worry this mod will always have a place here those jerks are charging 4 bucks on some sketchy site or atleast ive never heard of it
