Early Experimental Preview of Career Concept

    a Few things i'd like to bring up:

    1. I am once again petitioning for an option to downscale the UI:
    Many parts of the current career mode UI layout are barely usable, or outright don't work on my 1366x768 screen.
    For example, the introduction banner, I had to use keyboard shortcuts to press the confirm button because it wasn't on the screen at all:

    Also, with such a small screen and with a trailer attached, the cargo management menu becomes almost unreadable, I can only see half a line of text in the mail-slot sized space left for the trailer's list of contents.
    If at all possible, I think even just an option to scale the UI down to a hardcoded 50% value would suffice.

    2. A minor grievance with the current part purchasing system, is that you can't purchase a part without all of its subparts.
    In my case, I bought an H25 passenger van, and sold the passenger body so I could buy a cargo body. this unequipped all of the body sub-parts of course, but this meant I now had to also buy $10,000 extra of all the default sub-parts.

    I can manually sell the unwanted new sub-parts to recoup most of the cost, but it's a fiddly overcomplication, and would be improved if you could at least remove them

    3. I came across a bug with the parts system while sorting out the aforementioned H-series, it seems like all the new subparts that matched a part already sitting in the inventory, adopted the paint colour and mileage value of the old parts, so I've got brand new doors with "147,000km" on them which are black to match the car, but their monetary value is the same as if they were new.
    The parts that didn't have an identical copy, like the "hood" vs the original "late hood" were unpainted and showed 0 mileage as they should.

    I personally think that the ,,My Parts" section of the garage menu could do with some tidying up. Not only are the parts listed without any order, there is also no search function in the ,,My Parts" menu. It would be nice to have the latter, along with a proper order.

    1440 by 900 should fix it, it doesn’t really decrease performance that much

    Thank you for your insightful feedback, some great points raised recently which continue to be invaluable in shaping our development process!

    We are aware of the current limitations with the parts menu and UI sizing. These elements are part of our ongoing UX enhancements and are in various stages of development. Unfortunately, sometimes, this staggered development leads to temporary functionality constraints as we're all experiencing at the moment.

    Regarding broader game elements like force feedback and VR, while these technologies are not primarily developed for Career Mode, though they significantly enhance the immersive experience and, by extension, benefit Career Mode. I have passed the message(s) to the relevant teams though so they're aware, thanks for sharing!

    I'm excited to share a small update regarding our new system for managing incidents where trailers tip over en route. In reality, such incidents would lead to reassignment of the delivery, but we're aiming to balance real-world accuracy with gameplay. This feature is currently in the conceptual phase as we continue to enhance our level 5 delivery gameplay, which is starting to include the use of loaned commercial vehicles. These vehicles, complete with fuel, insurance, and maintenance covered by the company, introduce new gameplay dynamics and technical hurdles to overcome, especially when players need to pause their game for real-life activities. Our goal is to create a robust system for managing "non player-owned" vehicles.

    We appreciate your patience and love to hear about your engagement as these systems are being developed and polished, keep'm coming!

    Sweet, I'm hoping the FFB crew does something about the controller/gamepad FFB. I look forward to any new career-mode stuff, so keep it comin'.

    Did you recognize the movie gif? Or did you just like it so I'd feel good?

    I made this post on the Update Speculation thread in response to some of the recent talk about semi trucks

    It got me thinking, as I don't think I've seen any devs have input on this.... @ james, do you have any thoughts you can share on market variations for the car roster as far as how it will affect career mode? Personally I would love to see how that would shape the meta for the player's garage, but I could see the vehicle team being hesitant to make vehicles that would fit similar niche's just because of a career mode market limitation.

    So, regarding the diversity of trucks for different markets; our vehicle team has had extensive discussions on this topic to date for sure! However, from a Career Mode perspective, our current priority is more focused on establishing a solid gameplay framework before we transition into fully focusing on developing gameplay content itself. It's important to note that our usual game patches haven't been focused on Career Mode features, so new patches can make Career Mode feel a bit rough around the edges at times — we rarely miss doing a spell check though! Sometimes you'll get a system that was 40% built, but ends up being deprecated in the next month, so the next major patch releases a whole new system, while other systems it depended on remain in the background only to be improved at a later date, and so on.

    Just to say it again and be transparent, while our development process may seem somewhat haphazard, with plans like, "Let's launch Delivery Mode gameplay in update 0.31," only to still be refining it by 0.33, rest assured that these delays enhance the depth and quality of the systems we're implementing tremendously. We recognize that this can sometimes be frustrating for players, and we're working on improving this experience.

    The Career Mode team is slowly growing and we anticipate the pace of development to speed up with it. This'll us to make more significant strides rather than the incremental steps we've been taking. The current plan is: Get all systems built and functioning as we best we can, and only THEN start to look into incorporating other maps officially; This is still a ways off though, so please continue to bear with us as we move forward!

    so im encountering this bug whenever i play this race, even if i dont hit anyone, i can not get the colide with other racers no less than 5 times star, ive also done other runs with 1 or 2 collisions and same happens

    Thanks for the report! The wording on that is strange to me, but to be clear, it appears you need to hit opponents more than 5 times in order to achieve it. Regardless, I'll let the team know, thanks a lot for the report!

    Thanks for the response! So do you think that once that day comes the team will take a fairly realistic approach to regional market restrictions for cars, or will it be more open for the sake of gameplay balance/dev recources? For example, would we need to have a relationship with an import company to get a JDM BX on WCUSA; not be able to have a Gavril T-Series on Italy; vintage Euro cars be fairly rare to find for sale in US maps, etc?..

    I believe because it's a bonus star, the author wanted you to play again and actually cause some carnage!

    That's far down the line, personally I'm not against it, but I'm already pushing the devs to go down some pretty deep rabbit holes as it is, so I have to make sure I pick my battles haha! I like the way you're thinking, and I think it'd be great if we did that in an easy and intuitive way. It's not a "no" but it's a, "would be nice, but not planned atm" if that helps :)
