Photos and Fotos sound the same. English is a strange language. Did they ever give a reason why? seems kinda weird to just skip a version.
As someone who's been following the game since the early days - two. One with the D-Series and 0.3 Gridmap (2013), the other with the Covet and Pre-Race Update-era Gridmap (early 2015 IIRC). The former was more fun to play with, because there were a few configs of the D15 (though all with the I6). --- Post updated --- And besides game versions, there's the issue of mods - some have been removed on the creator's or external initiative, some have been updated in ways that changed them significantly.
Thanks for the follow-up on that, I was able to get my hands on both tech demos again some time ago. Can confirm, the D-series one was indeed more enjoyable.
Anybody know if "0.2" exists? I've heard people talking about it before. Also, is anybody interested in the 0.4.2.0 version? I believe it's partially lost.
0.2 does exist, but it is a developer only build and, as far as i know, has not been leaked. 0.1 got leaked to the public when the forum first opened, and you can probably find it with a simple google search. as for 0.4.2.0, it is decidedly not lost. there is a command line tool out there (forget its name) that connects to steam that allows you to download old versions of any steam game. i used it when beam broke compatibility with my old system. if you want to find "lost releases," i'd suggest looking for anything between 0.3 (first public release) and 0.4 (the original steam release), as those were not available on steam.
Has anybody heard of the "Twin" versions 0.3.7.1/0.3.7.2? By the way I found a torrent release of 0.3.7.6 on the web browser
i forgot about this theard well theres stiill some lost media like a map that i dont know the name of etc
I went on a trip through Wayback Machine and put the forum front page link in there, there are very old dates and one of them (which is in that picture) has a link to an old Techdemo that still works! And is still able to be downloaded.
There are two maps that i was looking for a long time ago that, as far as i'm concerned, are pretty much lost to time. The first is called "High Speed Tunnel", which was also known as the "Lefortovo Racing Circuit". The second was this other city-style map called "The Bronx". There is evidence of their existence in the form of YouTube videos, and through the Wayback Machine, but all download links are unfortunately dead.
The Techdemo V2 file is still on their servers since 2015. http://www.beamng.com/techdemo/BeamNG-Techdemo-v2.1.zip
I have a google.drive link here for the old version of beamNG (0.4.2.0) that I have if anybody wants to mess around in it. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1IwgbczPYXv703NHGb5v0il0XLQBqALYx?usp=sharing
