I Don't currently own the game but I am going to eventually. My laptop exceeds the current high end requirements but when I run the Tech Demo I loose frames even with the game windowed the lighting on lowest and all the other settings on low or off. My guess is that it has to do with compatibility with my video card. I am just wondering if anyone knows if the current version of the alpha runs quite a bit differently or if it will likely be the same result.

    I have a Toshiba Qosmio X70-A
    Core i7-4700MQ 2.40Ghz
    12GB ram
    NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770M
    Windows 8.1 64bit

My laptop has an onboard GPU as well but I have the settings in the NVIDIA control panel set to always use the 770m. I have also tried setting the settings to auto and just setting the game to use the 770m, setting everything to auto, setting everything in the NVIDIA control panel to performance over quality. The demo runs better without the antivirus on(obviously) but still drops frames just less often. In the options in game for display driver it shows the onboard GPU but the 770m shows up as GFX Null Device. If any more info is needed just let me know.

    Thanks

BeamNG requires a fast CPU to run smoothly, and laptop CPU are enough in most case. Because laptop are meant to last some hours, CPU are often limited so they doesn't drain battery. I would suggest to check if Power Saving mode is on or not.

I have a laptop with an i7 too, though it struggles to run a D15, so don't expect a miracle.

I think your problem with your laptop is probably that you don't have a separate video card its most likely using an onboard GPU which are horrible. I don't have any power saving mode turned on, and while power options do affect a laptops computing power that would only make a slight difference it wouldn't completely counteract all of the hardware. The game is clearly just not using my video card or not using it properly, hence the GFX null device in the options. I just want to know if the current version is compatible with my video card yet. I have seen another post with the same problem but they didn't know what the problem was and didn't get a helpful answer.

The post states that he has a GTX 770m, which is a dedicated laptop GPU.

I think you may be a bit confused, unless you were talking to Nadeox1. The post you quoted was mine. I wasn't talking to myself. I was just trying to explain to Nadeox1 why their laptop is most likely having issues even though it has an i7 processor because they didn't mention anything about an actual video card. That was my bad for not quoting the post in my reply. sorry for the confusion.
