Not only did they add DLC, but they also added Car vouchers to get free in-game cars for real out-of-game money! I still like the game and ngl I'm looking forward to FH6. --- Post updated --- I have played a stupid little game called Brick Rigs for over 2000 hours. (FYI this video is old and a bunch of new crap has been added. Decent video content for the game is scarce at best.)
Luckily they might be able to salvage some components from it to reassemble onto a previously uncompleted frame from the 80s. However, lots of the parts required are hard to find and/or create, due to the fact that the Soviet Union no longer exists.
If the plane was built to withstand the same conditions as the blackbox, that'd be at the expense of everyone onboard the plane. Basically, this: if the plane was designed to not break so easily, then not only would that be really expensive (and thus impractical), any crash into something like a mountain would immediately kill everyone. There's actually a good comparison to make in BeamNG, and it requires two things: first, either the value scales mod applied to any car, or the Gavril Vertex (and I'm assuming you have at least one of the two), and second the G-force UI. With the value scales mod, apply it and set both the Breaking Resistance Scale and Deformation Resistance Scale to 100x. Or with the Gavril Vertex, use the indestructible config. Now crash the car into a wall. See how high the G-force values reach? Humans, obviously, can't withstand that level of G-force-- they'd die instantly. And then apply that to a plane, which has a lot more weight, and is travelling a lot faster... yeah, good luck surviving THAT. Meanwhile, blackboxes are small, are not the thing keeping people in the air, and help out investigations a lot (I've watched those airplane crash TV shows more than I'd like to admit), so there's incentive to make them indestructible. Sure, mountain crashes are likely to kill people anyway, but the point is making the plane less deformable only makes the impact worse, and adds more to the cost (and if you've seen what Boeing's been doing lately, you'll know they wouldn't do that). It's not surprising that they added DLC. That's a thing of any modern game now. Admittedly, given the current trend of gaming, I may not be buying FH6. My only session of FH5 was 2 hours long, and I can't be bothered to pick it up again. I uninstalled it from my PC because 100GB of space??? Seriously??? Also would like to expand on what incentivized me to get FH5: it had NOTHING to do with the game, honestly. Part of it was a bunch of kids at my school who were into cars quite a bit. Although what they REALLY wanted was a truck for some reason. To the extent that one of them brought a spec sheet for what I believe was a 1990's F-150, including the EPA fuel economy rating, one day. (I guess he sure was a "real American" or whatever my dad wants me to believe is such these days.) They were all excited about FH5, and wanting to fit in with them (man, I did not realize how generic those kids were at the time), I was like "yeah, yeah, I'll be getting the Ultimate Edition!". Even though deep down inside me, I was thinking "was this really going to be a bad idea?". (Sure enough, I had reason to worry.) The other part was the recording. I'd bought an Elgato 4K60 S+ a few months before (and now I look at it, knowing I haven't used it in over a year ), and I really wanted to see if my PC could handle 4K60 whilst in HDR. It did. (Assuming this forum doesn't get rid of it, I've attached an image of the recording, with technical stats from my media player.) And once I figured that out, I was like "...is there really nothing new to this game?". Honestly, the map wasn't that new and fresh that I just wanted to drive all around it, and event selection wasn't anything new either. So I just... never played it again. Maybe it was just the idea that FH5 comes from a large company (as opposed to BeamNG, which is VERY different, and in which a lot of people have contributed with mods) that turned me away.
Would rather have an efficient vehicle than a truck. I don't need all that power and/or torque. I also prefer smaller vehicles. (I know, strange for someone in the US! Couple of months ago, my dad kept asking me to drive his GMC 2500 multiple times, and I declined every time.) I honestly don't think Neo was joking. He sounded serious. (Maybe he was joking-- on the Update Speculation thread, he was pretending a cat walked over his keyboard. Clearly that cat managed to press just the right buttons to hit "Post Reply" multiple times.) I'm also thinking that with the way Neo seems to be, I needed to explain that as verbose as possible. (I also tend to explain just about everything as verbose as possible so as to minimize confusion.) Finally, my sense of humor does not align with anyone's here. I sometimes miss obvious jokes. So, yeah, sure, go ahead, everyone. Say "r/woooosh" or spam skull emojis like the true social media user you are.
Okay, I guess you don't need to be explained things as much as I thought you did. Yup, the sincerity (or the appearance of sincerity) of that post got to me and the joke went over my head. Oops, I done made a mistake. That's fine, everyone makes mistakes. (Now if everyone I ever knew realized that more often.) It got to me, and for that I'm sorry (admittedly, I don't know if I need to be). Now that I've made that clear, hopefully people move on and return to civilized discussion. How difficult could that be?
