I wanna add, the 0.22 brings the walking mode and vehicle triggers, the 0.23 the PBR textures, 0.25 some digital dashboards and the new garage, 0.26 the shifters animation, the motion blur, the simplified traffic and hydraulics system for the T-series, 0.27 the new Bypass shocks absorber, the revamping of the EV's simulation, gas stations system and the centrifugal clutch system, 0.28 brings all the cars (except T-series) all the openables. The 0.30 brings also the new mirrors system with the VR (bugged, but atleast it's added). I don't remember when the Career mode has been "added". So there are still quite a few things added during the updates. So telling BeamNG don't bring somethings new and different is a bit of a lie. (No offences Agent_Y)
A friendly debate is unlikely to produce a ban. A heated argument may, but I don't think that's what this was heading towards.
I did. when I came back (yesterday) I found this cheerful place. --- Post updated --- I've been around brick rigs too long. Some server hosts will ban you for arguing against the host, and others will just ban you. Its not as bad as the Stormworks community though.
Y'all they posted another Gambler vid on their channel Maybe we will see a conclusion to Jared's build project
Missed the commotion, here's my thoughts: Mods have countless issues that official content doesn't. Aside from questions of quality, jbeam stability, etc., mods can conflict with other mods, require permission to package with others' mods, and are liable to break with future updates. Official content (in a perfect world, ofc) doesn't have these problems. As others have pointed out, they're in rather different market segments and draw from, historically, diametrically-opposed decades. More importantly, the way Beam handles vehicles on a technological and behavioral level allows similar-but-not-quite vehicles to really stand out from one another in subtle ways. Not to say I would balk at a 4-door Moonhawk, though Features are pretty much exclusively in the domain of programming. I could be the best 3d artist or jbeam expert in the world, but have no clue how to help the tire thermals team do their thing. Different jobs exist for a reason; they usually involve distinct, non-transferable aptitudes. In all, I find your propensity toward features, and not content, to be understandable. Who wouldn't want a game-changing feature added on the regular? But features are harder to develop, can impact other systems of the game in unexpected ways (where content tends to—forgive the pun—stay in its own lane), can impact overall game performance, and aren't always within the scope or tone of the intended final product (think LightRunner). I'm sure they'll add more features, but they'll probably be increasingly smaller ones, and the devs are probably going to be pretty deliberate about it. Moreover, new content provides modders with more references or platforms for their projects to be based off of. I'm sure any given Beam fan will tell you just how central the modding community is to the game's overall experience, and as steep as the mod-making learning curve is, I'd say we could use all the content we can realistically get. Even if it isn't always particularly exciting. None of this is an attack on you. There hasn't been much communication from the team in a while (and also the whole games industry is eating itself alive RN), so I understand being on edge.
Anyways I really love any content. Mostly just remakes and new cars. NOT really into the offroading stuff BUT i REALLY respect it Why? 1 the devs have a right to make what they love. ( to stop burn out ) 2 its there game there right if we like it or not 3 AM sure those off roaders and even stuff we dont like. Add LOTS of usefull stuff for the game and modders. i.e Slideing doors for the mini van's Also lack of teasers is a worry BUT they could JUST be dealing with bugs. Or trying to stop hype, I myself cant wait for a update or teaser like never before. BUT best let the awseome devs cook something tasty Even if this is a smaller update. Anything takes time. All i know is i never get sick of beam
i never understood how people can complain about free updates, that actually bring on the regular new stuff into the game. Its ungrateful considering whats going on in the gaming world nowadays. Anyway the gambler video from yesterday is probably a tease for whats to come in a certain way, thats the i series is gonna get a remake/remaster is for me already a given, since its a career starter car and the only one of them that hasnt got the beautification the other two got, so maybe what we're getting is a gambler version of it, a revised rally config, proper DTM config, old school German police variant with the old siren and blocky lights , hopefully more than one new body style (wagon, coupe, The first proper Cabrio (convertible)) or at least one of them more career stuff like whats in the video i shared with you this week, the rest of the stuff the t-series is missing racing overhaul or the beginnings of that, more Sirens akin to the horns we got in the last update, better performance, the ui changing to the new one or probably thats for the next update.
this is the beamng community for you, a bunch of ungrateful people that cant appreciate peoples hard work
Exactly this! The Barstow is a pre-emissions, fastback muscle car, the Moonhawk is a Malaise-era personal luxury coupe. These may both be front-engined, rear-wheel-drive I6 and V8-powered two door American cars from within a ten year timeframe, but they are different niches in motoring history.
How do four doors equate to more luxury? In seventies America (and basically anytime or anywhere else), two doors were more expensive and luxurious, like the Thunderbird, Corvette (yes, the Corvette could definitely be luxurious), Imperial, et cetera. And before you reply to this with “You’re all pieces of shit, I already know, stop reminding me I was wrong,” I’m just telling you so you (and others) can learn.
It's funny to heard that 2-door is more luxurious and expensive than 4-door, because a 4-door is technically more complex to build than a 2-door. Or because it give a more sportive look, and often the sportivity is compare as luxury feature.
So somehow I got a warning for the "don't argue with the devs" comment, instead of the big bolded out anger speech against @LegThePeg I wrote when I was angry... I don't understand the moderators sometimes I would also like to formally apologize to @Agent_Y and @LegThePeg, for my posts (especially legthepeg). I did not think my "don't argue with devs" comment would be taken as an insult or other "inapropriate behavior". And also legthepeg, sorry for the hate speech, but seriously, back off for a while ok?
i noticed something in the recent Gambler build video. the vehicle is a BMW model which isn't in the game. if they were going to release the build as an actual vehicle (an ETK), it would require a new vehicle in the game. so we can speculate that model of an BMW is probably in the works.
