I tried it but I can't say I liked it very much. The mods look very artificial, not like what the game developers do, but it's still okay.
I think what they mean in general is that mods just feel different in general. I feel the same way honestly, however that doesn't stop me from enjoying the mod.

The sounds are taken from files in the base game, used and unused. They have a point though, mods just don't really fit with the base game too much, but maybe that's the point.
The sounds are unrealistic and the physics of the cars are generally unrealistic, that's why I don't like the mods.
But still, I can have fun in the game and I bought the sedan etk brand car in the game (it looks new). It had a 2-liter in-line 4-cylinder engine, I brought the turbo to stage 1 and added racing suspensions, racing tires and carbon ceramic brakes and the car was magnificent, I feel like a train, taking a sharp bend at 230 kmh. If I install a more powerful engine and increase it to 700 hp, the car does not turn so great. A car with 700 hp is good for drifting and acceleration, but sometimes it is not good for cornering.
