I'm currently doing a rally using an awesome BeamNG rally mode mod and am once again dealing with a game behavior that has long frustrated me. The mod consists of rally stages set up as time trials across a map.

Every time I complete a time trial, the game resets my car back to its completely new state and gets rid of all damage, no matter which continue option I choose. I want vehicle damage to be persistent and to be kept after doing time trials.

I tried using the save and load functions, but they are really buggy and the game tends to crash after I try to load a vehicle state (usually once I drive around for a bit or try to keep a door or hood closed by coupling nodes). Also, for some reason trying to load a vehicle state causes the door functions to break and all the doors of the car just start swinging around freely, like they can't close.

Please have more options for making car damage persistent. I hate when the game resets my vehicle and gets rid of all damage when I don't want it to.

Edit: fix link to wrong mod

One work around could be to separate all the stages into single events? Talk with the creator?
I have noticed if you click the "Continue Here"(IIRC) at the end of events your vehicles state will be preserved. From there you can drive to (or teleport if needed) to the next stage.
I often have a car that is not in a running state after you launch it when the slow mo hits after the last checkpoint.
Hopefully something useful for you to experiment. . :D
