I just now realized that a hardtop is when there is no center pillar) ok then it's ok, I was confused with a removable hardtop.
Sometimes it can be very confusing. There are still a lot of things as a car guy that are still very confusing to me at 15.
BeamNG, GmbH is a German company, which puts their online presence—including the forums—under German law. The EU has strict rules regarding children and young teens creating and owning accounts on online platforms, presumably to discourage predation and reduce addiction. If you're upfront, you might be able to talk them into suspending your account temporarily until your next birthday.
before O.32 there was no precedent for removing a cars og body style when remastering it, before 0.31 there was no precedent for realistic mirrors, etc.
One thing that i wonder if we will lever get ( kinda off topic sorry ) If we more Engine/drive train simulation. I.E seeing how we have Oil pans that can brake. i was thinking how about Diff oil ( brake that then the diff will over heat then the car will not move... unless its AWD... unless you brake both lol ) AND transmission oil pan. Same reason/thing. Seeing we now have oil/coolant/brakes/engine/fuel. simulation. Of course this is still the best simulation game in cars history ( least to me ) so if it does not come no big deal. So if tire thermals/simulation cant happen for a while why not more Fluid simulation?
on first glance doesn't seem terribly complex to add, unless you wanted to add realistic leak rates depending on the amount of damage to the pan (which would be really good to see). Along with having oil leaking out onto the road to have a visual element and a road hazard along with it.
Even if it's not as in depth as you say, we at least need some proper gearbox damage because right now transmissions are indestructible, you can only damage manuals by grinding gears
Indeed, you can neutral drop a D-Series with 3 million hp and the transmission just handles it (not the rest of the car though lol)
It depends on what you mean by fluid simulation. BeamNG uses simplified models because true fluid simulation would destroy PCs and wouldn’t really add any benefits.
I watched an old interview with the developers and was unpleasantly surprised by the fact that many of the cars are outsourced, perhaps because of this they seemed so different in build quality, they are essentially legalized but still mod cars,
Can you give any examples of ones that were outsourced? I think they got the design for the Covet MR done with a collaborator because I remember seeing somebody credited by name on the teasers way back when.
Unfortunately I can't reliably point to specific cars or remastcras, that question should be asked of the developers
