shell is 'complete' aka there's no unintended gaps. it still has some shading and topology issues but that can be sorted. So here's some pictures before I mess about actually doing things. I'm probably going to put this on the beamcord discord thread now it's at a more 'complete' state. bad topology moment:
One of my favorite cars. I work at a museum that has many of these so if you need anything at all feel free to ask. One thing I might say is Alston doesnt sound particularly...british? I alsways thought a lore friendly Austin would be Ainsley or something similar. Just seems to roll off the tongue. Anyway fantastic work. We have Montegos and Maestros and I have pretty extensive experience driving and working on these so if you need absolutely anything just ask
Alston is old English lol. it means noble stone which is odd but works. I really bloody appreciate the offer about references, certain things are near impossible to find because no one does things like photograph the underside of the dash. Thank you
New update, we got a lotta stuff this time! -front adjustments for better proportions -rear pillars adjusted so they no longer bulge out weirdly -engine bay stolen and transplanted from the Covet (adapted to resemble the maestro) -door handles (the handle bit is stolen and modified from the Covet There you go, I'm now going to sleep before my body just dies
You could make a European Hatchback Comparison (or Battle) when it is completed, between this and the Cherrier Picnic Keep up the good work man, you got this!
Ahhh fair enough then I stand corrected. I'll see what I can do, we have a few Maestros, so Ill get a picture of under the dash on the MG on Wednesday and ill try and get a picture underneath a Base City dash today Anymore pictures let me know If you need any advice on how they drive, technical bits, close up photos for textures, help with the mod in any way im happy to help.
Would it be easier to contact me via discord? I don't check the forums anywhere near as much. Thank you so much for the offer, I'll discuss it more privately
To be honest, i think "Herbert" would also work since Austin was named after the founder Herbert Austin, but the current name is also rather good.
Maybe someone else could (after getting permission to use the Alston brand) could use Herbert as a model name for a different car for the brand.
alright fellas, been a while so I'm gonna catch you folks up before everyone gets hiatus brainrot New custom modelled rear wheel arches, new engine bay nicked off the 200bx and a new grille and headlight/indicator lenses. more modelling is on the way. --- Post updated --- Herbert would make sense for a classic Austin (like a Healey equivalent or somethin’)
