Just curious, the ungratefulness I've seen in other forum threads has prompted me to wonder... what have people actually given and to whom have they given it? Share the festive zombie spirit! I got my mom some opalized ammonite fossils, which she's over the moon with... my stepfather a damascus steel knife. My sisters got little bits of pop counter culture because they're hipsters... my boyfriend got a gallon of honey and a novelty sized spoon.
I bought 6 color changing LED Lightbulbs, (with a remote) and spread them across my family. So now every one can have a cool little lamp in there room.
Wat. Got mum lots of cute knick knacks from the U.S, taking dad on a fishing trip in a couple days when the traffic isn't shitty, stepdad got an awesome tea infuser in the shape of a manatee (manatea lmfao), stepbrother #1 got a super nice Los Pollos glass, stepbrother #2 got a bluetooth speaker, stepsister got a pink strawberry shaped lunchbox, sister got a bunch of Hello Kitty things, went shopping with future Mrs. Zappy and somehow (HOW??) spent nearly $600 on clothing and makeup. Probably why I'm broke as shit half the time, rofl.
Who doesn't want a gallon of honey and a novelty spoon? Am I evil for getting nothing for anyone? Because I got like almost nothing myself, so what comes around goes around, lol. And we were all broke so meh. Either way It was still a really good christmas for somehow
I totally see what you mean. But anyways, I got my brother a copy of AC4 on the 360, and I got my girlfriend a bunch of smelly things from bath and body works, an iTunes gift card, and a mouse for her new laptop. I tried to get my mom and dad something but they literally don't want anything, or at least anything I can remotely afford.... So each of my parents just kinda let me put my names on one of their gifts to each other lol
I got my brothers CAH, my dad a coffee mug and my mom a cheese grater. Oh and my stupid cat got some balls (because satan took his away) P.S. The vet that did it sounded like she was satan.
I just realized... It's far more innocent than it sounds, the man's got a helluva sweet tooth. anyway, holy crap you spent a lot! haha.
Regardless of any innuendo (oh that type of spooning, novelty sized?), I'm intruiged by the novelty spoon. Anyway. I got my 4 year old sister a Disney princess hair set thing, I don't know what it was, I just went with Disney princess bag thingy that seemed to have a hair dryer and other stuff in it. 6 year old sister I bought a Lego friends set. I just had no idea what to get her, she does have a few Lego friends sets already so I decided she can have another. 15 year old sister I bought an iTunes voucher because I knew she was getting an iPad for Christmas so I figured she could by some films, songs or apps. My brother I was going to get a Bluetooth handsfree kit and jump cables for his car. Left it too late and couldn't get any so I got him a voucher too. Mum and step dad I took the copout options of buying a shower set each, they were rather fancy looking ones (without a price tag to match not that I was aiming to be a cheapskate, I just went with what I could get and looked nice). Dad, brother and I went halves on some spiced rum and a beard comb. All in all. Spent about £90 and learnt an important lesson, start Christmas shopping before the 24th (actually I got the 2 little girls presents a few weeks early)
I admittedly didn't get my parents anything, but we decided while shopping that it was better to just buy what we knew we wanted. My friends and I are having a get-together on New Years, and my presents for them are: an aircraft reference book and FW 190D-9 model kit for my plane-obsessed friend, a RWBY t shirt (and possibly some chain mail earrings I made) for his girlfriend (who happens to be one of my best friends), and a little desktop sign that says "Herr Connarch" on it that I made out of steel with the lettering cut out with a plasma cutter. Hopefully they'll like the presents. Sent from my magic rectangle using Tapatalk.
Boyfriend? I gave a counting coin jar to my dad, a whole art set to my sister, and some pajamas to my mom.
My whole family (present company included) is pretty hard to shop for. We've taken to just overtly pointing out the things we want and getting them a few days or weeks later in colorful paper. So, I pitched in to purchase my mother a necklace that was asked for expressly and helped levee the cost of a gift card and a tee shirt with my sisters. Hardly inspiring, though. I did give a few hours of volunteering to a local nonprofit ministry in town. They run giveaways a few times a year, and need people to donate, clean/prepare, and organize toys, clothes, and food, as well as guide customers through the 'store' during the giveaway proper. I gave away a few shirts and some toys, including possibly one of the coolest ones in my possession: a toy helicopter attached to the end of a swinging arm. The arm restrains the helicopter, but it flies under its own power, and can be controlled by throttle and pitch modifications in flight. Very cool, or I hope the recipient thinks so. Lastly, and I know this doesn't count since it was a birthday present from early November, I created a faux-antique nautical chart for my pirate-obsessed sister: I grabbed a NOAA nautical chart of the Straits of Florida, illustrated the landmasses and bathymetry, and drew in a few hundred woodcut-style shadow lines. I then got a few poster-size prints and artificially aged them, with moderate effect. Needless to say that all my good ideas were burnt out by December.
I gave some acquaintances of mine company for christmas, for i have not a penny to my name. Although i think they appreciated it more than any gift that they would receive
http://www.greatbigstuff.com/products/spoon-and-fork-set Always worth getting it for someone -- So spoon, very size. Just make sure you buy them a ridiculous amount of some kind of food. and yes, always start your shopping in november
