Wait, I never understood a thing... Will be this car a lore-friendly one or will remain IRL Cadillac?
Yes, the proportions were a little hard to do considering that I had to make them accurate, but also so it doesn't look too big or too small compared to other cars and scenery (like parking spaces). Also, because I used the bluebuck jbeam (and that I didn't want to create or get someone to make a jbeam from scratch), I had to make sure that the model doesn't extrude the jbeam so the physics and crashing look good. But though it isn't a perfect replica, I still think it looks pretty good. And thank you too. --- Post updated --- I had thought to make it a bit lore friendlier. As a matter of fact, someone actually wrote some pretty nice lore that I could use. But I just didn't know if I really wanted to do it, because if I did decide to do it, would I change the badges? Would I stay with some of the lore (or at least information on how I came up with the pseudonym) I already have? And also when would I do it, but that was more of a personal question. But what was most important to me was that because this car wasn't made from being inspired by the 1959 Cadillac Eldorado, but it pretty much is the 1959 Cadillac Eldorado, would I even want to make it lore friendly in the first place? And what I mean by that is it makes sense if you make BeamNG Drive friendly lore for a mod of a car that was created from the image of another car, and a good (and more recent) example would be the Gavril Dynamo. You can see it has similar features in the rear with the real life 1959 Chevy Impala and 1962 Ford Fairlane, but it also isn't completely those cars itself. However, it doesn't make sense to me if you make BeamNG Drive friendly lore for a mod of a car that is not inspired by, but is a perfectly replicated copy in the game from it's real life counterpart. Now I understand that for some people, the lore is fun and it kind of sucks when a car doesn't have any lore that's not part of BeamNG Drive. But to me, no matter what name changes I do to the car, or how good, deep or clever, the BeamNG Drive friendly lore is, I will never see the car as anything but a 1959 Cadillac Eldorado. And though that's just my personal opinion, I do believe that it is a very good reason for everyone who wants the mod to be more lore friendlier to just think about it. And if the mod is still wanted to be changed to be more lore friendlier, I'll do it.
If you can, could you add the right mirror as a configuration? it doesn't have to originally be on the car when you spawn it in, but in the settings you could chose to have a mirror or no mirror on the right side - Btw if you don't know what i'm talking about heres a picture ( Also i LOVE your mod )
SMALL UPDATE! -Int front door windows fixed -Chrome Improved (Unrealistic flashy chrome substituted for darker chrome) If the chrome is too dark, I'll change it back. I just thought the very flashy chrome looked weird on the rusty and stock versions.
SPECIAL UPDATE! (Sorry this came right after another update) I know you guys have been asking me about this and I finally decided to do it, so without any further ado, NOW INTRODUCING... The Cadillac Miller-Meteor! For now, this is only a demo of it, because it's not finished so unfortunately there's no interior (or at least any interior that looks good) and also sadly the single rear trunk-door does not function either, but I think it paves the way for other cars that people have also been desiring, if you know what I mean? But currently most of the functions like paint jobs, and additional parts still work so have a little fun with it. And that's all for this update. Just re-download the attached files on the first post of the first page to get this update. See ya!
Great stuff! We need more big-fin cars in this game I do think the chrome is too dark now And the Convertible parade boot shouldn't be on the hardtop; it cuts through the C pillars and the back glass :-(
like someone said, i’m also having problems with the chrome textures. i have tried clearing cache twice, didn’t help.
Just change the rear seats to “short rear seats” to fix that. --- Post updated --- Hmm, try reinstalling the mod again in game and if that doesn’t work try redownloading the mod.
Old bubbly wagons with those taillight fins get me every time like small trucks... I fricking love those things.
Have to agree with you 'JoshD', I too have this issue....was looking forward to taking her out and about
Hmm, try reinstalling the mod again in game and if that doesn’t work try redownloading the mod. That is weird, the chrome worked fine for me yesterday. And those other error messages are normal for the mod. They basically are saying that those parts aren’t spawning, and they’re not spawning because I haven’t added them to the mesh. --- Post updated --- Sorry about that, I’ll look into it as soon as I can.
I cleared the cache, downloaded the file again, no such luck. I checked the model, you have 'regency_parts2' defined as the material for chrome I assume? It's not defined in the main materials file or any other such file to be found. Also, why are there so many materials included when none of them are being used? The materials file is pointing to other vehicle directories containing the files.
Sorry about 1. Yes, that’s the one I have for the chrome material. 2. I figured that was the problem, but it worked fine without modification to the materials file and any others while I was using updating it, so I didn’t risk changing them. 3. The mod is based on the bluebuck files, so many of the materials transported from the bluebuck are left over in the mod file. I want to remove them, but I also don’t want to accidentally mess anything up. And as being a starter, it’s long and difficult for me to pinpoint the source of my problems, so I keep them there just in case. It is mentioned in the description that the mod file’s interior is messy though.
No problem 'Greyscale'59', have to gain experience somehow, nice job overall though... as I always wondered whether you could just use another vehicle and adjust it to make something else. Sadley way above my pay grade....I'll just stick to doing screenshots....lol
