    No, you have to press the fn key, right next to the ctrl key on the bottom left side of your keyboard. You press it, hold it down, and then press the f1 key while you are holding down the fn key.

    if he doesnt know what an FN key is, possibly 11 or under ill post pics about what 2 do laptop_function_key.jpg press the bottom button shown in the pic (the FN key) and press F1 key AT THE SAME TIME

    Or he doesn't have one, I believe I had an old keyboard, and it didn't have an FN button...

    In which case he should just have a plain old F1 key...

    Or I have seen *1* keyboard that instead of an Fn key had an F-Mode button. You had to press that to switch the F keys between media function and actual function, it was a toggle rather than being held like the Fn key. My laptop has the Fn key and then has a toggle option in the bios (which I have enabled so my function keys by default are literally just F1 to F12 and I have to hold Fn to get the media buttons). My old laptop had both Fn keys and an F Lock key.

    You know ,not all people have laptops (which the fn key is mostly specific to). The help screen (F1) hasn't been working for a lot of users, and it should be fixed eventually.
