My alternator has failed, and i have to drive 240 miles home tomorrow, hopefully my friend John can help me out however because he has several of the old style '63-'64 Chrysler 30 amp alternators. It also turned out the solid state voltage regulator (aftermarket, very common) wasn't working anymore, replaced that with old school electro-mechanical unit from the parts car and the alt now at least charges at and slightly above idle. John also wants me to help with replacing the front airbags in his Mercedes and said he wants to pay me a little money, i told him the alternator and and having a chance to work with him is payment enough Old cars are just so conveniently reliable
God i wish i had a beater to play around with but i don't have space, money, tools and skills for one
old cars are great. they're actually impeccably reliable and completely dependable all the time without fail!
And they are way easier to fix on the go than these blocks of plastic that have a bizillion hidden wires and an ugly ass engine cover --- Post updated --- Plus they look better than new cars
Let me rephrase that I wish i had the space, money, tools and skills to have a beater to play around with (on top of my current daily)
It's now my mom's car, so she can drive to work or the shops without asking my dad every time. She always liked it so i wouldn't want to do something dumb on it and ruin it for her
Good news! The Ineos Grenadier will be sold in Mexico starting in December 2024! And I'm very happy about it 'cause I've been starting to love Land Rovers, true off-roaders, and Defender-like SUVs.
$75,000? That'd be like MXN$1,456,110 pesos here, so of course rich people would only be able to afford those.
