Thank you so much for finally releasing this map to the public, the additional yakuza traffic is also great ! I've been wanting to have this map in beam for a long time so it's great that you guys managed to do it
That's nice to hear. It took us quite a lot of time but we learnt a lot while working on this and other maps. We started with all models being completely manually ported by @AgentMooshroom5 in Blender, the map working at 15 fps, and no props, and now we are here. We still are learning and trying to improve future map ports.
I have a similar question, can the traffic vehicles also be manually spawned through the vehicles selector, and if not can you make this possible? These cars seem like they’d be good to occupy parking spaces in the background of screenshots, and since I play on a lower midrange laptop I think they’re lighter to run than actual cars or even vanilla traffic vehicles
i tried playing the map but neither the dx11 and the vulkan are working good enough just givin me 10 fps dont know what to do is it a problem with the ultra gaphic settings? and no pc shouldnt be a problem ^^ all maps are working still with 80-100 fps at the same settings.
Wish my pc could run this. Sadly I run on a steamdeck which has an average cpu and gpu, and only 16gb ram
On both this map and the Onomichi, Hiroshima maps, the game runs out of memory before the maps can load completely. I do not think it has to do with the specs of my PC as it has 32 GB of RAM, a Vega VII, and a Ryzen 3700X, but the game just runs out of memory after trying to load the maps for the first time. I haven’t tried restarting my PC, but will try that later.
Make sure that you don't have too many mods in overall. If I understand right your GPU is 16GB. Onomichi map does not even use full 4GB vram. Maybe you have some background apps that use resourced, but for sure both of these maps should work on your configuration.
I swear the UI in the world editor changed since the update, I cannot figure out how to spawn the yakuza traffic now. Can someone please show me? I think I do it correctly and have yakuza traffic selected but when I generate the cars it's vanilla vehicles
The tool broke at some point right before the last update and now it doesn't work right, this is something we're trying to get looked into and fixed currently
Oh okay good to know, I look forward to it being fixed I love the mod. I can still manually spawn cars from the traffic pack and activate ai traffic right? I feel like the performance hit isn't nearly as bad using the yakuza traffic pack
Yeah there's no real difference in the end result, it's just an easy way to batch spawn the same cars. Though the stock traffic cars shouldn't be far off these in performance now considering I put all the same optimisations into them now too
Playing this map is the first time I've ever had a GPU thermal throttle and use nearly every megabyte of video memory lol But other than that, this is a fun map! And I enjoy driving around and discovering things like all of the other Yakuza maps This might not be the right place to ask, but how is the new Kamurocho map coming along?
It doesn't run much better than this one despite being 4x smaller because it's similar amounts of resources crammed into a smaller area, given how many people gave up even waiting for this one to load because loading 12gb or whatever of assets takes time and then were shocked when their system that didn't meet the specs on the page couldn't run it we've put it on the back burner a bit to get some other endless wip stuff finished and released finally (the infra maps), it'll see the light of day but it might take another vulkan performance update to make it playable for more people so we're sitting on it a bit for now to see
good to know! And yeah, I knew it was going to be bad from the description, I tried playing this map on my Macbook Pro and the Radeon was struggling, but in DX11 mode I did manage to average around 20-30 fps, even in Chinatown surprisingly
