This is merely to prove that people can reject and hate new content because it is not what they wanted, or does not fit their expectations. A longer update cycle raises expectations and increases this risk, especially with featured content that looks like a popular mod with visual tweaking.
Durham is looking like GMC Typhon and New Truck is looking like 1980 F-650. So I am quite sure that this is different vehicle made by them.
This is about general crowd first perception, not our opinions. I thought it looked identical at first, other people will probably too, and some won't look closer and they will run with it like their ex is chasing them with a pump-action.
Agreed. And people will complain: "Why was this mod added when there are many other mods of much higher quality (and finished), and still lore-based?" e.g., Hirochi Rush, Claria, Signia, Dynano, Scout, Miovi Stella, Cherrier Picnic, CCFL/Vela, Procyon, Hirochi Talent, Mirena, Patriot. You get my point. People would complain about that 100%.
I was just joking with a group about how the devs could drop a teaser of a vehicle touching dirt to stir up the offroad complaint crowd.
Solid spot --- Post updated --- Something worthy of noting since people are fighting for the Durham mod creator. Ren seemed pretty peeved when someone asked him how he felt about the devs ‘stealing’ his mod. “well medium duties are kind of the same recipe for pretty much every brand, except last gen GM which used the van cab instead of the pickup cab they're all just pickup cabs on a larger frame. case point” - (RenAzuma66, Beamcord)
We definitely could see a wide variety of emergency response configs for the D65. Ambulance, pumper truck, water tanker, emergency response, police department command center, swat/bomb squad, etc... That would be a cheeky way to get us a "modern" truck. I'd like to see it, just for the variety
Full size image just dropped --- Post updated --- Is it just me but this livery looks weird with that rusted out chassis? Like it's too good, too perfect. I hope they'll find a way to address this at some point (having some sort of aging for livery)
while yea it does look good, i dont think it is rusty, maybe just dirty or painted. like how you can paint the frame on the t-series (i think)
I’d assume they’ll have a body to go with it. Not sure on limitations, but I’d love to see some tiny body holes with heavy rust which is quite common on vehicle fenders here in the rust belt. As one of the choices of course Frames rust fairly quick but the growth usually progresses from coating delimitation on sharp edges at first. Then on much older trucks they’ll look like what you see in the photo and when they get REAL bad they’ll develop rust flakes and grow holes (which is no bueno).
In the full-size image of the recent teaser, it is clear the logo says Gavril, but it is interesting that it is red. I also noticed the wiper arms are chrome instead of black, suggesting that the early models will have chrome wipers. This off-road version is most likely an early model (late 80s), by the look of the bench seats and wipers. The hood looks like it will open forward by the placement of hood latches. I'm really hoping for a higher-displacement V8, something like a 6.5-6.7L diesel V8 or a 7.2-7.4L gas V8, similar to the Ford F550-F750 or even a V10 option. The front looks large, and the regular 6.9L V8 or 6.0L diesel would be a bit underwhelming in a truck like this.
So, they warned us not to expect much content and that it would take a while for the update, to lower our expectations, and then surprise us with cool content (even if it wasn't much) and even a new vehicle (even if it was a variant of the D-Series inspired by a Mod)
One thing that I found interesting is that the lights on the roof and bed don't have PBR. So I guess we won't be seeing the D-Series, Roamer, and H-Series get any sort of updates like that yet.
I hope so too, this is probably the most "fire truck-suitable" truck they've added so far. Also interesting how this appears to use the short-bed off the regular D-series, which is a lot shorter than the other two upfits we've seen so far. That probably means they've split the frame into front/rear lengths like they did on the T-series, so we'll be able to make crew-cab monstrosities with any upfits. If that's the case, it also lends credence to the idea of some variants using the H-series cab. It wouldn't normally fit in the same space as a D-series cab because it's a lot shorter, but with front frame length variants, it can just have its own corresponding shorter frames, much like the conventional vs cabover T-series frames. Also, the front end on the offroad config seems to most closely resemble an 80s Ford front end, and similarly the pre-facelift D15-45 front end is halfway between the "bullnose" and "aeronose" fords, so we're probably looking at a pre-facelift model. Given that i'd expect a big thing with exhaust stacks like this to have a diesel, that also revives the old question of whether they're adding a bigger, older diesel, since the 6.0 is modelled off ford's powerstroke from 1994. I'm personally hoping they've made some kind of smoky old, indirect-injected, NA diesel, something gutless, but unkillable.
Honestly I'm not surprised its the beam devs we're talking about --- Post updated --- Yeah it would be a letdown if they didn't added a FD config --- Post updated ---
