0.33 Discussion Thread

I'm playing the career mode a lot and I have to say honestly , good job devs . I really appreciate all the changes , the small ones as well as the bigger ones ( still discovering some the more I cruise around ! ) but what is the best imo is what you did with the garage menu , thank you just for that ! How you put all the parts in alphabetical order and organized by vehicle is soooooo much better and easier to find what we are looking for !

Deliveries menu are also very nice and very easy to use / comprehend . Everything is well layed out and well explained .

Cars menu / inventory are also a nice welcome , with the little picture showing what car we are working with / selling is so helpful .

There is now a reputation system with all the facilities where you car earn more money the more you work for them and have bonuses , can't wait to try out this new system and the potential of this !

Once again , amazing work to all the devs team . It was a long time waiting since the last update but totally worth it imo , like always . Massive thank you to all the devs working on this masterpiece !

 

the problem with lighting flickering in vulkane is still relevant to me - both on PC and laptop

 

Front wheels on MD series have bigger hitbox than wheel itself (IDK where are debug options anymore so I can't check it correctly). Also basically any hit will cause them to lock up on something.

EDIT Testing on Grid, front tyres were phasing through tubes on offroad track leading to being stuck. Tested on MD Overlander.

 

The photo for the WCUSA map and the industrial area spawn at WCUSA still displays the "old" diner

 

The 90s Pessima's race exhaust, or just the combination of the 2.0 engine and race exhaust, is still unnaturally bassy at idle. Actual embed this time, and tested in safe mode (you can probably tell from the UI layout).

i tried clean install, safe mode, this happened on every car. No mods installed.

Noteworthy bugs:
The Grand Marshal and old Pessima have a light flare for the amber lights with the headlights on while there is no amber light on.
While a few horn audios loop much better, more horns seem to loop worse. In particular, horns 5, 106, 107, and 108 sound very artificial.

 

on that last one, i think a lot of people have missed that the pre facelift hood is rear hinged and latched on the MD series

 

You need to go to options>controls>vehicle specific while using the T-Series to see the keybind for the drop axle, or any other keybinds for that matter.

So when I launched 0.33 it basically said "not enough disc space for data transfer, 2000(ish)MB needed, only 700(ish)MB avalable", when I had 707GB avalable on the disk Beam.NG Drive is on. And I lost all of my data... again . Please fix this for 0.34.

 

Why is my game starting in directX11? I though the default was Vulkan now?

 

No, but beam.team uses it to develop the game now and it is close to becoming default.

 

Due to the reworked simplified traffic system, when using a police vehicle with traffic enabled, it will tell you "A suspect is fleeing from you! Vehicle: Simplified Traffic Vehicles" rather than the appropriate vehicle name...

 

I really don't think Vulkan is ready for the primetime just yet. It still uses about 2 more GB of VRAM compared to DX11 for me, making playing with traffic enabled unviable. It'll drop to like 15 fps with Vulkan while DX11 stays around 70 for example. It wasn't unplayable before .32, but now when I want to do traffic I HAVE to use DX11. I could lower the settings I guess, but I can also just continue playing on DX11.
I'm on 5800X3D and 2070 Super with 8GB of VRAM btw.

 

For some reason this update breaks SimHub's automatic telemetry integration, requiring integrity verification if used and manual setup of OutGauge settings to restore functionality. It manifests as corrupted vehicles for some reason, including the unicycle if spawning into career mode.

Other than that this update is top tier, thanks for all your hard work, devs! Loving all the trucking stuff and the career mode updates!

 

I don't know if this has been talked about or even if this is the correct thread for this kind of thing (sorry mods if this is the case).
But are those, hot, glowing brakes?
