I make all my car skins now with the vehicle editor in the world editor, so all my skins are colourble, I can colour my car any colour I want.
Marine update: Since the ocean is such an important feature of this landscape, I decided it should not just be the backdrop but to actually have some places to go. There is now an island 2,5 km off the coast with lots of stuff to explore that is only accessible by boat.
Wow! That looks really damn good. The colors are very harmonious. Enjoying the African coast of your map from the water on a boat trip must be a dream.
I wish there were more boat mods. The RIB boat in the screenshots is pretty much the only one out there fitting this map. I found some nice boat and ship models for the wrecks on this map, maybe someone capable can turn one into a working watercraft at some point. We´ll see. Also animals would be fantastic. Like a moving seal or dolphin in the water. Theoretically that should be possible, there is a map with a flying bird out there and I have seen something similar on yt. I just don´t think I have enough time to get into this.
You hit my nail on the head. Can I tell you about it? I have an idea for a whale watching scene. I thought I would have a kind of rotating disk with painted whales that then make a slight curve and emerge from the water. Of course, it should only have a minimal FPS impact, that's important to me. With the flying birds, you can make great use of the parallax effect. If you drive along a road and two birds (imposters) are standing in the sky at the right angle in the distance, it looks like they're moving. I also like using the boat mod that you show. I even edited a lot of things, sound and so on. I also like using the flat-top barge mod and have built a mesh slap in the form of a bridge on it. There are lots of suitable piers on my maps, so I can also transport cars. What you're doing is really great. I'm always happy when I can see something new from this project.
True, I tried replicating the colours from photographs, there is a comparison on the first page of this thread. Luckily this fits very well with the existing textures and decals from johnson valley and also the vanilla rocks blend in without any changes..
The map got a new settlement. The colonial town used to be a hotspot for diamond and guano trade, today it is mostly a fishing and tourism community. It features a harbour, fishing industry, workshops and a camping ground. Ai traffic works fine in this area.
Wow! This is really looking great! I like the fact, that you use a few assets multiple times but it don't makes you feel that they are repeated. The settlement has it's typical "flair" and the composition looks absolute authentic to me. Great work!

I would love to book a pitch two weeks in advance if that were possible. It must be fantastic to go on holiday there and explore the vastness of the desert from there. This map is a gem!
ah ok, tbh I don´t really know as dumb as this might sound. I could theoretically release it as finished like it is now but I constantly find new stuff I want to add or change or rework and it goes on and on.
Oh wow thats amazing! Would you mind sharing the skins with me? I could implement them in the map and missions. There will be some missions with park ranger vehicles and I used the vanilla skins so far but I guess these are the better fit!
