Shitbox Updates: 2005 Ram 2500 (Old Blue): Miles: 236,000 Runs and drives (almost) perfect. Has a stalling issue in reverse while its cold. 1984 Suzuki LT250EF (Duki): Miles: idfk anymore Still in pieces, engine cases wont cooperate and go together. BUT hopefully getting help soon to get it going (I miss my baby ) 2022 Coleman CT200U-ex (need a good name for it): Miles: unknown Getting new rear end gear. Lost rear nut and tensioner (luckily was at a very slow speed, didn't get hurt). (mmmmmmmmmmmm crispy) NEW (to me) SHITBOX: 2004 Honda CRF250X (basket case edition)(need a name for it): Miles: unknown Got it from my cousin who is moving and didn't want to drag it around. Got it non-running with a bad head gasket. After a couple weeks and struggling to get the timing right, it made dirtbike noises. I don't trust myself making this bike reliable and safe, so I'm sending it to a local shop to finish it. I don't know if i'll sell it in the spring or not, but we'll cross that bridge when we get there. 2005 Honda TRX250 Recon (need a name): Miles: unknown This is my dads workhorse quad. He got it 2 years ago after my Suzuki started being problematic (yes, my Suzuki was the main workhorse since 2020). It has been dead reliable after he had to replace the clutch because it was slipping bad. Since then, it has been overheated, slightly crashed, bumped around, jumped, and raced, but it keeps on kicking. For a 250, its pretty quick. I ride it most of the time as a sport quad, and my dad rides it less but for utility. For a utility quad, it rides pretty damn close to a sport quad. I'd buy myself an identical one for myself, but I don't have money lol. Shitbox update complete
Replaced a broken taillight bulb. Also replaced the shifter bag and the handbrake bag a few weeks back and installed these fancy things: (Yes the car is dirty and I have to clean it, I know)
The minibike is going again. Being more cautious about checking bolts and stuff. The Suzuki engine is getting in to a local shop to get it back together. I admit I got in over my head changing engine cases, but we'll get there The CRF250x is going into a different local shop soon. I'm pretty sure once both are in their service places, I'll be getting both going about the same time. I'm so excited to have my Suzuki back. Its been like 2 years but its about time
If you call that dirty, then you don't know what a dirty car looks like --- Post updated --- It's actually pretty good for my standards
Probably one of the many pros of not living on a gravel road, but I wouldn’t know. My cars are super dirty compared to that.
I know there's far worse out there, but I like my car clean and good looking, so it's still dirty to me
I took the plunge with the BNR-2001R BlendMount that the company says won't fit the Type R after seeing someone else say they successfully installed it with the OEM mirror assembly. I have the FitcamX dash cam, so my situation is a bit different. I had to remove the mirror housing halves for the FitcamX, mount the BlendMount pushed as close to the windshield as possible, and then modify the FitcamX housing by cutting a rectangle in the back to fit the BlendMount arm through.
clio update: clutch and wheel bearing have been done (twice, enshittification is real, my mechanic probably hates me by now), good pictures are still on the list. i did put in a bangin' stereo for me tunes however, which warrants this very post. golf update: yeah no the oil leak was caused by my fuckup. its alive again, just needs a wheel bearing...
A set of new tires arrived, so mounted them on rims I sanded restored and balanced the wheels. I'm thinking I should have painted them bronze, or darker gray. Luckily I have all winter to ponder the color
Decided to finally after like 2 years replace my completely trashed cv axles and also replace my lowering springs with godspeed coil overs and slam it to the floor so i can throw back on my white wheels and have them look good. Replacing cv axles is a pain. mainly cause ive never done it before so im just figuring it out as i go and the fact getting out the short cv axle thats stuck in the trans is just about impossible even when using a cv axle slide hammer or a pry bar and a hammer but after pounding on it for idk how many hours it finally broke free. I almost got the long cv axle side done but when i went to finally torque the axle nut i found that my pry bar i bought to hold the wheel hub still wasnt long enough and the nearest hardware store is 35 minuets away if i dont get stuck in traffic so i started on the other side for now and am almost done. Also due to school i have access to alldata meaning i have access to official torque specs and man the ones i got online were way off lol so its a good thing im installing coil overs. Will post a pic when im done.
Did a roadtrip in my Octavia recently i really have forgotten how great this car handles. I was really lucky with the weather and the road was brilliant. If anyone is interested it was the Gerlospass in Austria. On the BMW i recently changed the Grille from the ugly Black ones to the original pre facelift ones as well as the logo from the Faded one to a new used one. I also changed the valve cover gasket since the old one leaked a bit. All in all the BMW has loads of issues but i love working on it since i have learned loads of new stuff.
First pic is gorgeous. I know other places have mountains but I still would have guessed somewhere in the PNW of North America if you hadn't said Austria. Didn't take any pictures because I was driving and it was dark by the time I was done but I drove through the first snow of the season. My truck and trailer are a muddy slushy mess. As much as I'm looking forward to a good snow year for recreation I'm not ready to put tire chains on yet.
The alps are definatly up there as one of the most beautiful places i know. Id love to go to the rockies at some point though as well
Working on cars is so much fun! So it started with my cv axles being blown but I also wanted to stance my 6 a little so i bought coilovers. But my car is a stupid early 3rd gen 6 which means the lower shock bushing on the rear is a bigger size. Only one company makes a coilover set that will according to them fit my weird early year mazda 6 so i buy it. i get the front end done Strut towers modified so the camber plates will work, coilovers on ride height set, swaybar links length set, fitment perfect so i move on to the rear. oh no the rear coil over shocks lower bushing is just barely to small and their isnt enough metal material in the bushing to try and modify it to make it fit in any way try contacting company that made coilovers for my car but of course nothing comes of it so i guess ill just turn it back to a nice daily and go back to completely stock then. Buy new stock rear shocks and new front struts from rock auto.cause i cut the bump stops on my old ones for lowering springs The rear shocks fit but the top rubber mount is slightly taller than OEM and it doesnt work. Its ok tho cause you can remove swap the top of the shock mount to the oem one thats on your old rear shocks. So i finish the passenger rear and move on to the driver rear remove everything and go to swap the top shock mount and find the oem one is completely torn and trash. so i now have to order a brand new 200 dollar OEM rear shock and cant drive my mazda for another week cause i have school. Hopefully my chrysler 300 will live another week. Cause my mazda has so much plastic underneat preventing me from getting ot the inner frame i need pinch weld adapters on my jack stands. Problem is they fito only 2 of my jack stands so i have to get the rear done before the front which means im stuck which is annoying. I only get half a day and one full day to work on my car so its quite annoying. It was supposed to only take me a few hours.
Well, LJ, who is from NZ, is currently working on a Grand Marshal ute called the Gavril Huntsman, so there is that
Yea might of heard of that, just wish they expanded the vanilla cars and maps a bit more to other countries, how cool would a SA map with an outback pub be, as well as maybe an old One-Tonner HQ style ute, and like some outback/over landing D Series configs
