Update:Fatal Error

Ok. So I noticed I hadn't updated Beamng for A LONG TIME. So I went to the folder and noticed it was update.exe.old instead of just update.exe. I changed the name to update.exe (as instructed by internet) and started up the update. I got "FATAL ERROR:could not contact servers, trouble downloading version.txt" or something like that. I checked all of the same, related troubles on this forum and the only clear answer was to redownload. I went to redownload and noticed I could only get it on steam... I also can't figure out how to install mods on steam plus I have 2 of the same games now. Is there any other, simpler way of fixing this issue?? Thanks!

 

Update.exe hasn't been supported for a long time. Link your game purchase to your forum account and click the download button on the menu bar of the forum for instructions. You'll need to redeem a steam key and download the game through steam early access. You can opt in to the more recently updated, but kinda buggy experimental build through steam as well.

 

There is an easy fix to having both steam and non steam versions. Uninstall non steam.

Mods. Right click beamng.drive in steam library. Properties, local content, browse loca files or something to that effect (not looking at my PC right now).

 

He doesn't have a BeamNG copy on his account, chances are he is using a pirated copy.
