External Mod Site Trains

Ive seen these mods in MANY youtube videos, (especially the coaches) and was wondering:
Has anyone tried them? People say external mod sites contain viruses and the like, but has anyone ever donloaded the coaches and other mods and actually gone through them to see if they really do have viruses? Or if they even work?
Like honestly the Beamng train community is so in need of train mods (especially any sort of coaches) that i'd prefer having a mesh slapped coach rather than no coach at all.
(and yes I am aware the ICE train & Eurostar are both mesh slaps)

I've tried the passenger cars in the photo, even Crash Frontier used them for a movie. The mod isn't really that good, the crash physics are stiff and terrible... but it works. And there is a double decker coach mod but it's private because it uses a model that they can't use, sad, same for other real life trains

(Also, fun fact, someone made an autorack mod but it's unfinished... sadly. There was also a logging wagon but I can't find the thread and the mod couldn't connect to train cars and it was just made badly)

I've seen some of those non-uploadable mods, and I know where some of the models come from. There was a steam locomotive I saw on youtube that I know is for Trainz as I have it in that game; its K&L Trainz's Freeware PRR D16sb. I was just thinking: what if we messaged K&L trainz & requested that they allow us (more specifically the guy who ported the model in the first place) to use the model for BeamNG drive? Do you think thats feasible?
