i didnt give my pc any of my images on my phone yet!!!!! daily (not real image) : other weekend (not real image): other weekend (not real image):
I hope you are ok now. The new car doesn't look too bad, it actually looks pretty good design-wise. There are certainly much uglier cars that you could've gone with.
Thanks, I'm really glad we weren't hurt, it could have been really bad... And I agree, the current SUV-world is quite boring, but at least the design+color combo on this one sticks out just a bit, most of these are seen in matte grey or normal silver, and since my old car was literally beige, it's definitely an upgrade for sure.
Recently managed to fix the coolant issues of the Clio (Fried relay for the radiator fan, cost me ~5$ at a local parts shop - it was that simple to fix, after spending about 20 times that money taking it to various garages which misdiagnosed the problem as a leak rather than a bad electrical circuit). However, it is no longer my daily driver. It went back to being my mother's, as I recently brought myself a Nissan Micra. It is a '13 base model, I got it for a cheap price since it was a bit neglected mechanics-wise by the previous owner. Had to replace the rear bushings and the clutch soon will get replaced too. It's much faster than the Clio (it has 80 hp vs 62, and slightly lighter too). And it is also a manual so it's pretty fun to drive, nothing too exciting but I can say from experience that even with a worn-out clutch I am almost always the first out of a traffic light. I guess that is probably more thanks to the other drivers' phone habits than thanks to the Micra's tiny 3 cyl. engine, but who cares? Also, it is really easy to rev-match when you downshift, like the Clio. On some modern cars I noticed it's tricky to do for some reason, I think they might "smooth out" the throttle response? I'll post a picture of the Micra soon enough, meanwhile here's a picture of the Clio.
This polo 86c has been my daily driver for over 2 years! It is very dear to me, and I have so many pictures of it. Cost of the car was nothing compared to the stuff I have bought for it... even bought a second one for spare parts
I have a 2018 Malibu my mom gave me with under 50k miles, which mean stuff hasn't started breaking yet. I hate it but I am in no position to get anything better. Not my picture but this one is identical to mine.
I am now the owner of a hemi AWD Chrysler 300. For 4500 bucks it ain't bad. It's a second car so when I'm tackling bigger projects on my Mazda I have another car. I test drin and was originally going to buy a 2001 5 speed civic for 2500 but my father was with me and he convinced me to buy a muscle car lol.
Here is my Micra. I like it. It is more comfortable than the old Clio I had. It is faster and stronger by quite a bit. The steering feel is pretty nice, definitely a small step up the car food chain for me! However it is less stable than the Clio and more understeery, so less suitable for messing around tight bends. There are a few modifications I have planned for it, the most pressing one is work on the music system, currently there is no way to listen to anything other than radio or disks, I might try to repair the AUX, or solder to the broken AUX port a cheap Bluetooth card. If anyone did this mod on his/her car and wants to offer advice I'd be happy to hear! Another thing I am considering is installing a temp. gauge, since the existing one has no display, only a bulb. From experience with aging cars - I want this information before there is a problem, not when the problem becomes serious. BTW The Clio is still alive and well, it recently had the head gasket replaced (which cost about triple it's market worth. Sheesh!)
Personally, I just purchased a cheap head unit online that had Bluetooth capability. I know it's probably not the answer you want to hear, but it worked for me. The old one, we never used the CD drive on anyway, so it wasn't too big of a loss.
I’m actually a little surprised that a factory manual Civic coupe survived 27 years without being ruined by ricers. W car
I plan on keeping it mostly stock. I'm gonna replace the headlights with aftermarket projector headlights, And I plan on seeing if I can get the cold-air-intake kit I got at a bin store for 8$ working though. I'm also planning on either reverting the taillights to stock, or something that looks better than whatever is on it right now.
