the mod forums is from 2018 cant we stop it ? --- Post updated --- i mean 6 years is too much let the page die in peace --- Post updated --- if anyone wanna redo or reamke the mod Create a new forum post
People are willing to work on the mod so posts are made and creating a new post is an option. It's the same amount of effort to point people to a new post as it is to point them to the correct page. The downside is that this post would still have people complaining about the speed chime and bumping the thread when a different one exists.
I have the latest version of the mod but the interior lighting still doesn't work when I turn on the lights, I've been struggling with this for a few months now
This is very strange, I rn checked mod archive in game and all dashboards work correctly. On all bodies and with any dashboards. Are you sure you have the latest version? Can you give more info? / like your config or something else
So I have another suggestion, I read about the AE86's turns out the Levin's have rotating grilles controlled by a thermostat. If it reaches a certain temperature it rotates it and shows a different grille. If anyone is willing to try to make this, since I can't do something so complex then have at it.
I actually saw this in a blender animation of an AE85. I was gonna implement it but I dont know how to make anything temperature based.
The one thing for me is I don't think anyone wants to wait for the whole model to be completely re-made, including the epic customization (my favorite part), if it doesn't have to. I think that, if it would be easier, the models we have should be remastered instead of completely remade. I personally don't mind the model, because my standards are quite low, but I understand most people would want it to be improved. I know nothing about modeling, so I don't know how difficult/worth it remastering the model would be, but if it would be faster, I'd personally prefer that.
If there is some temperature readout and its made with values in the game files you can probably do it, but If that isn't a option well I have no other ideas on how you could do it.
Is it possible to make the cerb weight of the car to below 1 ton, I tried adjusting the node weights inside jbeam , but that fkedup the suspension and other parts holding strength, they became loose and would break almost instantly when spwaned. One more request, Does anyone have the properly tuned config file for the first stage (Stock car of takumi with the adjusted suspension settings) and second stage(high rev with suspension tune)
I know someone who is doing models conversions from GT7 for assetto and is willing to have them used in beam. Replacing a model shouldn't be too much work but I never did it so I cannot really say. I would imagine it's as simple as replacing the mesh but fixing the textures could take a while. Some of the newer parts are actually pretty good but fixing them to work for a new base could also eat a lot of time especially because there are a lot of different parts. The age really shows through in the jbeam. It's not too bad to understand once you actually go through every file but there is no documentation within the files and barely any organization from what I remember. Even I didn't add comments to the code when I added new engines or transmissions. --- Post updated --- Schumacher's last post was May of this year but the last one before that was in 2020. The last official update to the mod was in 2018 so I think its safe to say that he has stopped updating it. --- Post updated --- A temp readout is used for engine damage. No clue how it's done though.
Well then that would mean it keeps track of the temperature, that's possible to make. It would make sense because when you drive a car and it slowly goes up the temp gauge goes up too. No idea how you would actually do this in a mod without some update breaking it, dev's should address
The 1st stage config is already in the latest version, but the best we can do with the suspension is guess. Changing the rev limit on the Akira Iida config to 11k makes basically identical to the 86 in 5th stage. For the 2nd/3rd stage 86, change the rev limit, body panels, roll cage and transmission to the crossed 5 with a really high final drive.
The best solution is to make another mod from scratch. We got this one to work correctly and without bugs, but the weight and suspension are too difficult to fix to make it worthwhile.
Is anyone working on it? If No, is anyone interested in doing that? (I dont know anything about modding or how long or difficult it is)
Cooldude doing something, but I don't know when he will publish this. Personally, I try to keep the mod without orange textures and properly working, but with minimal effort because I'm very busy. We will be glad if you do something cool with the mod
