some trucks IRL use it for smoother ride, but it's also way more money put into building. i'd also imagine it's a pain or 2 in the ass to code and jbeam everything without exploding the front half of the T-series speaking of smooth ride: peterbilts have leaf spring fronts and still ride way smother than "American" volvos which have air ride on ALL axles and even the cab sometimes, lol
talking about front suspensions, they're rarely used on US Commercial Semi's so you do have a good point, but if they're talking about one of those custom Semi's with a front suspension then that would be cool, although I'm not sure this is the right thread for that imo
Would it be possible to make 300L fuel tanks selectable for the steps instead of only the 370L tanks on the TV70/TV80 and T60, so that the exhaust pipes don't clip into the tanks (besides being to close to the fuel cap)?
I just noticed that the Cabover Twinsteer AWD doesn't work: attempting to use it causes the truck to get wheelstuck no matter what. I'm sure that this bug is recent, but either way it should be fixed soon.
That's more of a modern/custom semi thing which I'm not really interested in building. I'll look into it. AWD has been working fine on my end. You're gonna have to be more specific.
Whenever I equip the AWD Twinsteer, for some reason the front powertrain get stuck upon spawn and the truck is hard-pressed to get moving. It's even worse if I connect it to the rest of the powertrain, because then everything locks up and the truck won't move at all. I also have a couple of modded auto gearboxes with P mode, so whenever I put one of these offending constructs on P, the wheel hubs go crazy and eventually break off. I've had plenty of T-Series mods (one of them scratch-made by me) alll this time, and only now does everything go wrong. I REALLY have no idea what causes this, since it started happening at some arbitrary point when I wasn't even playing, let alone modifying mods.
1. I'll have to test more but haven't been able to replicate it so far. Might be another mod conficting. 2. Those mod gearboxes likely have the parking pawls set too strong which is not my problem. Also I've said many times before that semi's do not have parking pawls.
About the parking prawls, they've been working without side effects for a long time. They're there for a bigger project of mine involving airless brakes, but I highly doubt that those are the issue either.
I just noticed another thing about the fuel tanks: On the TV70/80 the 500L tanks cannot be selected, even when they should fit (TV80 Sleeper or Aero frame for example). Just changing the front frame to the equivalent T60 or Conventional version makes the 500L tanks selectable.
Oh, and another thing I forgot to mention until now: why is one Twinsteer Fender set named "Cab Trim (T60/TV80 Twinsteer)" (the space between Twinsteer and the first parenthesis is missing too) if Twinsteer T60 is no longer a thing?
A nice idea I had that I think would be a good inclusion would be to have an extra long frame with a medium rear overhang to still fit the 28ft dry van and flatbed/soft top to allow better load spread across all the axles that can be added with your mod. It would allow some more weight to go on the front rather than have the front 8 boxes loaded and the last two not to keep it balanced.
Nice. Some of the gasoline fuel tanks are a bit bugged, though. Visually they still have meshes, which overlaps with their subparts' meshes and thus they don't always change.
I've been looking at it for a little bit now and it would be really cool if it was an extra extra long frame with a short frame end to fit the 28ft upfits because then with the tandem plus tag axle it would be the same turning circle as the beamng long frame + long frame end but with better weight spread. Or just an extra long frame with a medium frame end. I changed the cargo boxes max weight to 2.5ton to mimic the variety of real world weights which makes the stock truck front end light.
This mod Is a work of art! I really appreciate the detail. There is 2 items I'd love to see added to this mod , if you don't mind me suggesting.. #1 - Naturally Aspirated intake option for the MD series i6 diesel engine. #2 - both T-series engines (i6 and v8) available for the MD series (including working jakebrake + the switch panel from t series cab , added to MD series interior
