Vulkan API – Feedback, Known Issues, and FAQ

Current issue is kind of baffling:

Intermittently Vulkan does work perfectly or not at all (Locks at black screen on load but can use AI by sound and even hear level load and operate vehicle while blind)

Intermittently reinstalling all Visual framework versions and a clean install of Nvidia drivers will resolve this, and the game will work for the time the computer is on. Invariably it breaks again, and then I attempt the prior fix. This time it has not worked at all, and I've attached the log file, as well as a screenshot showing that while the BeamNG hash check claims there is a file missing, it is clearly present. It had occured with and without mods installed, and after multiple BeamNG clean installs.

Most recently Vulkan worked perfectly loading up career save, and then upon switching to full screen (borderless) it broke again.

In all cases, default launch works perfectly.

I'm glad you found my solution helpful.
At the moment all new drivers (later than 561.09) kill the game.

I need a help with Vulcan.
I have gtx 650 and when I trying to start a game it write "can't find suitable device"
What should I do?

I3 2100
4gb ddr3 1333mghz ram
Gtx 650 1gb

 

GTX 650 is too old, sorry.

 

Is it because it doesn't vulkan or because beamng doesn't support it?
Latest vulkan version it supports is 1.2 (driver version 475.14.0.0

 

Game not even starts. In 0.32 it was working. I will post photo of error.

PSA for those using rolled-back Nvidia drivers to bypass the issue that Do123dik posted as a working (temporary) solution.There are some critical security vulnerabilities on older drivers, and your computer may be at risk staying on those versions.

EDIT: Are there any available or pending solutions that do not involve a documented security risk? Kind of a bummer not being able to do BeamVR

 

My videocard can't take 5xx versions of drivers. Last driver versions is 472.12

 

the game in vulkan runs almot perfectely,but i have some problems when spawning ai traffic with police the game crashes, i hope that the vulkan api will be complete soon to improve performance.

I figured out that alteast for me when I disabled Nvidia Overlay in the apps settings then Vulkan will run without a problem. Drivers are on 566.03

 

if you have a NVidia gpu try updating drivers and optimizing game by going to the Nvidia app and go to graphics then click beamng then optimize. If beamNg doesent appear click add app and select beamNG.drive.exe

I dont have Nvidia app. Only Nvidia control panel.

 

Thanks - It does work. Bummed about the impact of recording in OBS but it is negligible vs not being able to play at all.

Edit: Any fix yet? Shadowplay really is my best solution for recording inside of a VR headset, especially using a racing wheel. Anyone know if we are waiting on a Vulkan patch, an Nvidia patch, or a Beam one?

If it's supposed to be Vulkan or Shadowplay, should someone be having it reported to them and is anyone?
