WIP BeamNG Sega Rally srDesert v.3 (Mountain update) 4.1

Hello everyone,

I want to begin with great thanks to each one who downloaded my mod since a month !!

srDesert

My srDesert project was created without previous knowledge of the game system, so I made the desert track on inspiration and discovering materials, decal roads and assets... all things with their json file... notepad++ is my friend now !!
This map is currently in progress with the building of the Lake side track next to my original, like I promise in my first video :
The lake side track is not the next update but exist yet in most part on my files. Work in standby

It seems like this, pretty empty for now :



srForest/Mountain = srdesert ?

The other track I make with the editor from other project is the Forest. In the begining I would like to make a separate mod file called srForest to have a mod for each track, but when the track was finished, I decide to merge all the tracks in the same mod to do an unique project which can be updated

That's for the history of the mod !

What's next ?

In the third version of the mod, you guess it's the arrival of the third track of sega rally championship : the mountain ! But it's not the only thing I want to add this time. since I edit the forest in order to add mountain I merge the two track by a asphalt road. Since I released forest update (v2) I added several dirt roads, tunnels and bridges to navigate between two maps and have more exploration possible than just make a single lap in each track

These are under construction now and I release the update when I will be satisfied of the visual quality and playability of the whole map. I will try to add more missions too when I will progress enough, possibly only in future update if the map is ready soon.

I'm very disapointed my rtx 2080 don' turn on anymore since last week probably due to high temperature in my country. I would like to record a trailer video for Mountain track introduction but now I return on my gtx 970, 4k video editing is probably ruined. It was fun to do, creative ability, I hope I can work on a good card soon to make videos again

Is it just me, or is the recently split-off Forest map not available in the repo? I checked a few weeks ago, but at that time I thought it was just awaiting approval.

 

hi, exact ! I'm disapointed about this...

the moderator Car_killer tell me I forgot a .rar file in my .zip update file : when I fixed it I thought the resource will be on the repo but it's not...(
I'll try to ask him now if he can put the updated file on the repo too or if I have to repost the resource as a new resource

I'm glad making this creation playable for number of gamers
you can post a review too if you want to tell something cool about your experience ! I will apreciate to read it !

It's not a very nice solution to split the mod but the only way I found to load the maps on MP servers

That's the thing... that link leads me to an error page, so it seems like no version of the Forest map has been approved.

 

ho... absolutly right, I don't notice that before writing (don't have to download myself)
the resource page on my beamng account didn't said that it's waiting for approval since a few days

have to wait the moderator response to know how to make this map available again
(transfert to the repo or brend new resource post...)

the same thing happend to another map I've posted last month ( a remake of driver psx 1999 parking test ) rebuilt in blender
hope some players can test it soon

I just wanna express my appreciation for this astonishing map! Under 100 MB but so beautiful to look at, glitch-free, high FPS and really fun to time-trial. Thank you Dsden for making this. I know I drove Sega Rally back in the day but I don't remember the layouts … maybe it was another generation of Sega Rally, but I don't care: This map is brilliant.

I spend a lot of free time like summer and autumn 2023 (including non stop 2 holiday week) to create this one from zero knowledge of the game and blender.
I expected a review like yours for so long !!!!
I'm proud of this little world I've made of my own, it's so cool, some part of text editing, ai trajectories, texture attribution really gave me headache, and obsessed me !!!
so many coffee XD
I'm just a bit sad that I can't have some money for all this time, even if it was a similar dream to access video game creation : it take too many time and no return for the effort, not very encouraging for create someting new.

Proud anyway to see the map more than 130k times downloaded !
My own vision of sega rally in a lot of gamers wish list, as a reward !
