Hi everyone, I have a suggestion regarding hall effect keyboards. These keyboards function more like controller triggers, allowing you to adjust the pressure you apply rather than relying on basic binary inputs. This makes them perfect for racing games, as you can control throttle and braking with much more precision. However, I’ve noticed that BeamNG doesn’t seem to support this functionality. Even when I press lightly (around 10%, according to my keyboard’s software), the game still interprets it as a full input, instantly jumping to 100% throttle. It would be amazing if the game could fully utilize hall effect keyboards, allowing for analog-style input. Since these keyboards are becoming more popular, adding support for them could really enhance the gameplay experience for many players
This is news to me that there are keyboards like this. All keys from windows are treated as binary on/off from the operating system. What keyboard do you have - so we can have a look?
I have the DrunkDeer G65 And look here: this shows how much pressure I applied to the W key. In the first picture, I pressed about 70% of the way down, and in the second, about 10%. It could be a game-changer for keyboards in BeamNG, in my opinion.
I have a Monsgeek m1w Hall Effect keyboard and this can be applied through the keyboard's driver. It has options to emulate joysticks and triggers. Works really well in game once you figure out how to set it up. Im sure theres a simple enough implementation for other HE keebs
Hey I really hope this will get added since I got the SteelSeries Apex Pro TKL 2023 version and it def should support it. Thank you!
