The modified map might be saved in [your user folder path]\BeamNG data\BeamNG.drive\0.33\levels
try moving the folder to [your user folder path]\BeamNG data\BeamNG.drive\0.34\levels

That's normal because tou modified a game's internal file which is not designed to be modified. Always do copies if you want to keep your files.

The entire map was a copy, modified in 0.32, then fixed and “copied” in the 0.33 updated (added “2” after johnson valley”)

Adding a number to the index folder doesn't mean the map don't use the game's files anymore. All the files (almost a thousand) are still believing their folder is named "johnson_valley".

So does that mean my map is gone forever? Or can this still be fixed
