Hi! New version of my mod will feature red and green German plates (I've just started adding new plates for Bruckell Nine): In order to make Czech dealer plates, you can select a Vintage plate as they have the same font color, and replace first 3 characters (e.g. "V01") with a letter and two spaces, for example to get a number "C 2085", the number in the field should be "C -2085" (2 spaces between "C" and "-"). If you want, I can add them (as well as sports car plates) as a separate plate type, with just a number generator changed. In the next version, 2001-2004 Czech rear plates won't feature a green sticker by default (what's a bit funny, I've probably removed the green sticker from these plates by accident, so thank you for letting me know ).
Hello, is there a possibility to make other types of Slovak plates in the future? For example pre-1997 types: Or other 1997-2004 types like these diplomatic: ...and also test car plates + oldtimers:
Yeah true i figured that out with the dealer plates. It would be nice if you could add a 2001-2004 version with the green text. Also, good luck with the new plates on the Bruckell Nine. but its nice to see information on this mod again! Still using it to this day.
A small change of my plans: upcoming version will also include 1994-2001 Czech license plates (with commercial and non-resident variants), as well as German 1956-1994 standard license plates that use the DIN 1451 font. Format for pre-1994 German plates will remain the same, but if the number doesn't fit, it will be possible to use narrow variants of letters by using lowercase letters, like for Polish plates. Plates from Czech pre-2001 system will use a dash "-" for stickers and a dot "." for a dash between digits. I've decided to include them, because their size is compatible with existing plates. I'll also add more variants of Slovak 1997-2004 plates without the EU flag in this update, as it's quite easy to do. Regarding pre-1994 Czech/Czechoslovak and pre-1997 Slovak plates, they will require a very big amount of effort, as their size is different from any other mod plates (49.6 cm x 9.6 cm for 1-row plates and 32.0 x 18.0 cm for 2-row plates), so I'll have to create new models for these plates and put them on game cars. Because of that, they won't be added in this update, but somewhere in the future.
Finally a proper mod for these plates! I'm really excited for this next update. do you think it will still come out before 2025?
Are you going to add DIN seasonals? Some do exist but theyre extremely rare, and it would be a nice detail
rukatsunderi updated Central Europe Plates with a new update entry: 15 new license plate sizes and more German, Polish, Czech & Slovak plates Read the rest of this update entry...
Love this update, thank you! This mod deserves more recognition with the amount of detail it has. You even put the old region stickers on the DIN Plates!
It looks really nice! But I think I have found one bug. If I want to show Slovakia Dealer plate (1997-2004), there appears 2004 design without coat of arms.
New plate designs don't have a good compatibility with default US license plates (30x15 cm), as none of 9 countries in my mod uses this exact plate size. Also, they have different material than EU plates, so I decided not to use them. However, for compatibility with modded cars that don't support my plates, new standard designs (Germany '56-'94, Poland '76-'00 and Czechia '94-'01) have a non-official plate design for US-sized plates. By the way, before Polish small plates were introduced in 2018, people used to order unofficial US-sized plates for their cars, they weren't exactly legal and it could result with vehicle's registration certificate being taken by police. Slovakia uses 24x15 cm plates instead. For some Slovak plates, like dealer or export ones, it's the only size they're issued in. You can select the plate size by typing "plate" in search bar and selecting "Front/Rear 24x15 cm License Plate (SK)" as front/rear license plate.
Thanks for your suggestion! All four designs will be implemented in the future. After I've read something more about German plates, I realized that I'll also need to correct the starting year on some plates (please correct me if I'm wrong): - Current style export plates are issued since 2000 (not 1994), as date format on these plates was different until 2000 (year at the top, month at the bottom, no day) and a dash above sticker was used on these plates until 2000. Month on DIN plates didn't have a leading zero, in oppose to FE-Schrift plates. - Seasonal plates had a debut in 1997 and short-term temporary plates in 1998. Probably, I should also change the ending year of DIN plates, as they could be issued per request until 2000. I've also found out that first FE-Schrift plates issued in 1994 (Berlin, Brandenburg & Sachsen) had a bit different design than now: there was a dash between two stickers and the "D" letter on blue background used a different font. I can implement this as a separate design too.
Yeah i was gonna suggest those too but didnt want to add too much, i actually have one of the first fe-schrift plates in my collection from either 1994 or 1995 that is missing the dash, the D is using the same font as now except its very bold (not rounded unlike in the most images ive seen online), and the blue is also way brighter Also, from what ive seen in the files of your mod, is it possible to use the engschrift numbers on the DIN plates? ive tried to get them to work but it just seems to use the normal ones
The first image is the one I took and uploaded to PlatesMania. As seen here, or below Just wanted to have this said, funny to see my image land somewhere completely different
yeah i couldnt find one on the internet so i took yours for reference --- Post updated --- Here a list of all the single row german plate sizes in case you ever want to make all of those
At this moment it's not possible to use narrow numbers, because I actually forgot to implement them in font files. From what I've seen on PlatesMania, they were less commonly used on DIN 1451 plates than narrow letters. Also, because most of characters that can be found on a keyboard are already used for other purposes, it might be hard to input them without using Character Map, I can do that for the future, but I'll probably use superscript numbers for that purpose (⁰¹²³⁴⁵⁶⁷⁸⁹).
