Hello. I have a hp g42 notebook with a intel i5 core 2.67ghz with AMD Radeon HD 6300M series GPU and 6gb RAM. My maximum fps is about 20 and minumum is 5 fps. Is there any way to improve the FPS?

Unfortunately it looks like your machine is hideously underpowered GPU wise. I've seen many recommendations with notebooks going down the road of
"get a new machine". No doubt you've toyed around with your graphics settings as well. I had a Toshiba i3 with Intel 4400 on board and all I could manage
was 20FPS with one vehicle on Gridmap. I didn't need any motivation to part with cash on a gaming laptop in my situation.

Bottom line is you're not going anywhere framerate wise with that machine, Beam needs serious beef in both the GPU/CPU department.

To get some extra FPS, try the following:

First, turn off the FX. when you open the options menu, on the left box there should be the option to disable it all. gets you a few FPS

Second, start turning down graphics settings, especially AA and shadows.

Third, turn down your resolution. Makes the game less intense to run, more FPS. Make sure you are in fullscreen mode as you do this, and disabling Windows Aero (assuming windows 7 or vista) will also net you a few FPS.

See if any of that works for you
