Update - the page for the mod is up on Modland! (https://www.modland.net/beamng.drive-mods/cars/ibishu-crosssport-2.html)
I really hate modland because everyone is sending me DEATH THREATS! I just thank god that i lost the password to my stupid account which i made on it
Uhhhh I don't know if this has been asked 100 times already but Im gonna ask anyway: Any traffic support?
you replied in august to a message from february, and now you're in january replying to a message in august
Very nice, love the quality! One thing that I'd suggest is to remove the rear DRLs and repurpose that lighting level for the marker lights (when the headlights are on), as i've never heard of a vehicle with tails on all the time (and also would burn out the bulbs quicker).
Man, Admin sure is around a lot of places. I'm certainly impressed with how he manages his time around everywhere.
i think it's supposed to imitate automatic headlights/taillights, i've never owned or driven a cx-7 irl but i imagine those were an option on it considering they were beginning to become commonplace around the mid-late 00s
I get what you're saying, but as of now they're always-on. IIRC the CX-7 (and related vehicles) didn't do that sort of thing (regarding the always-on), but I could be wrong.
I'm technically bumping my own thread just to say one thing. This mod is 1 year old! Even though i missed it by about 4 days, it's still not April, so it still counts. Anyways! First of all, I want to thank everyone for supporting this mod and giving feedback to it. There are still things to do and here's what i plan for the future of this mod: 1. Improving the model After looking at the model, i grew disappointed in a few areas, mostly because i haven't done it properly and didn't reference the real stuff. For example, the tailgate and the area surrounding it, it feels rushed to me, so i want to improve it and make it just better. It's not just the tailgate though, it's a lot more that i feel needs some improvement. 2. Adding missed stuff After a long while, i noticed that the real Mazda CX-7 has a lot more things that i did not include into the mod, for instance the Chinese version of the car produced by FAW from 2014 to 2015, that's 2 years after the original production in Japan ended. And the rear fog lights, turns out they exist on the car as an option or requirement in some regions. There's a whole lot i have missed and i would love to recreate. 3. Changing the design Technically this would go with the first one but that's different to an improvement. The car is a heavy copy of the real car with minor things changed, So probably I'll change it to reference some other Mazda vehicles of the 2000s, and not just the CX-7, but also the Mazda 3 BK, Mazda 5 and other things that i could come up. I know it might disappoint some and i know there are other mods that straight up copy the designs of real cars (Gavril Vertex - Ford Focus Sedan, Cherrier Picnic - Peugeot 106, etc.) 4. From a single model to a platform (new models?) Even during development someone suggested to make a CX-9, and at first i was against it as it meant i had to make a whole new model. BUT! As it turns out, the CX-9 is simply the same old CX-7 stretched out to fit onto the Mazda 6 GH's platform, allowing it to have 3 row seating, so why not do the same here and just make car a platform instead?. I was also thinking of a 3-door version for some kind of a rally raid version of it, kinda like the Mitsubishi Pajero Evolution and its racing version. Would you like to see a 3-door version? Let me know. 5. What happens after the Sunburst gets remastered? Should we be worried? First of all... is it even a Sunburst? If it is, worry not, i backed up all of the files of the 0.34.2 version of the car, so if it does end up breaking things, i'll roll up an "emergency update" which will bring those textures back only for the CrossSport. And yes, it won't break completely, the only thing it'll affect is the materials, the code itself cannot be shared from another car, and obviously it has a lot more changes than the Sunburst, so again, it won't break to such a point it'll crash on spawn. EDIT (March 21, 2025): It might be a Sunburst. So again, no worries, i backed up the pre-remastered version. I will be updating the mod once i'll be finished with EUDM Pessima and Lands of Sands updates and once i'll be in the mood for it... or a lot of free time. Cya!
