Not sure exactly whats causing it but it seems potentially to be something to do with the LODs, the trees have texture close and far, but in the mid range they have no material, and this follows with the camera. The forest textures might need redoing or something along those lines. --- Post updated ---
Some materials were updated within ecusa/italy/jri which the trees are borrowed from I could fix it using material links but i'm horrifically busy rn
I second what the other guy said; if you or somebody else could post the method to this thread it would be a Christmas miracle, especially since the update has broken other maps that aren't likely to be updated soon or ever. As I explained on another thread, the devs really shouldn't allow updates to just break the game's very best mods this easily, and there are ways to prevent these issues which I don't think would be particularly hard.
I was so happy to finally find a nice UK map (where people drove on the correct side of the road! LOL) And this looked amazing, just to find those same orange tree's and some bush's at a sort of middle-ish LOD point. Hopefully the amazing creator (or someone can help him) fix this little issue for everyone who loves the look of this
I really don't have motivation to fix the map what so ever if I'm gonna be honest I'll try eventually but god knows when In the meantime, some of you can try to fix it for yourselves if you know how to do it
Thanks for the reply, much appreciated Well there are some clever folks here so hopefully someone can do what's needed (with your approval of course) or write some "Idiot's guide" so someone like me can do the fix... LOL..
I've heard that it is VERY easy to fix, but wouldn't know where to start because the guy who said it was easy to fix just dropped that hint and refused to elaborate. Have you actually looked into it? Maybe I'm wrong, and it does take a significant amount of effort.
I just did take a look at your files. It seems you copied the asset files and didn’t update the material paths. That’s 550MB down the drain for unused files Replacing the main.material.json files will work, but long term you should either remove the unused tree assets, or properly set the paths. Updating the paths has the benefit that it will no longer rely on BeamNG’s other content. ^^ --- Post updated --- Just got ahead and create a path patch, now the level uses all the file packaged with it and should continue to work even if materials in east_coast_usa are changed again. ^^
Thank you, Grille, for saving me the time. I have patched your edited files into the main mod and uploaded a fixed version that will work on its own: (File removed; patched version is now the main download on the first page) I'll remove the link if either Azureskies has a problem with the file being reuploaded even on its own thread, or you don't approve of your patch being redistributed. Otherwise I encourage the original author to replace the old file on their own Google Drive with this one; due to its size I can't host it forever.
Thanks for this. I don't really have any issues with patches being redistributed, matter of fact I think I might just put this on the original post.
Please do this in the near future, as like I said, it's a large file and I can't promise to keep it on my own Google Drive forever.
