My goodness... I'm not really sure what else to say, this is so completely impressive. You're doing outstanding work! The variety of biomes, the road network, the opportunities for all kinds of roleplaying -- and all this in a package optimized for everyone's computer?? You have my respect and admiration!
Some short facts: First beta tests (on different computers) for the pre alpha release were successful. Another machine with 16GB RAM was fine with the map Download file size will be less than 2GB Map first loading time ~3min. After compiling (cdae) ~2min (on moderate machines) Release in mid/end January 2025 can be fulfilled While many other things are still being done in time, I am not going to let myself be deterred from continuing to be creative and filling the map with interesting content. Here I have created the new terminal building for the airport "Nodehinge Hill". There are parking spaces on the upper floor, while the ground floor has space for a bus station. Since we can't drive suitcases in BeamNG anyway, I decided not to have any luggage collection points or passenger processing zones. Everything is relatively open and you can get directly to the airfield via a bridge. Main task: Bus station and drifting opportunity .
Love it, looks like a ton of varied and interesting content. Lot's of exploration opportunities, tons of little things to see and do. Very cool. Can't wait to explore it all myself.
Superb work as always 'BSGT'...do you create / manufacture your own Buildings and structures from scratch?....look forward to exploring the map when ready.
Yes, my own assets/buildings are created from scratch. I just have an idea and have a little Blender party evening and bring in some basic knowledge I have from structural engineering so that it seems plausible. Combining everything with the additional aim to have not much polys and an interesting architecture in one structure.
at this point this map is so good you could literally deprecate every default beam map and replace them with this and it would be an improvement
Yes, there is always progress . I made some fine adjustments and optimizations to the AI traffic lanes in many places all over the map, for example to have a smooth and accident-free merging from 2 lanes into one in front of the motorway construction site. I also adjusted the AI behaviour from map/LUA side a bit with very good effect but that is experimental at this point because it may conflict with some traffic mods. But it's fine to have the AI ride at 140km/h on the highway and sometimes really do the things I expect . That's WIP from BeamNG side anyways, too. Since I don't edit the map systematically but solely on the basis of creativity, there are no really "finished" regions even if they seem to. The whole map is WIP and so there are many undiscovered little (unwanted) things that my two loyal and hard-working beta testers pointed out to me and that I was able to clean up immediately. (<3² to "AlexKidd71" and "Leo Zieger"). Initial tests with the shrinking tool from "AlexKidd71" resulted in a download file size of only 1.8 GB. Man, I wouldn't have expected that myself. My polygon- and bitmap-saving act of violence is proving to be highly effective (even not at the possible maximum)! This way the map can grow on and I still have ballast to throw away - LOL I'm going to give myself a few more relaxing days and try to reduce the work a little, enjoy the map more and edit what I see right now and then take the repo step. Launching in different ways:
I can only say so much that even if it is still WIP it is not a map, it is a work of art. It will exceed all expectations one might have about a BeamNG map. I´m glad it will be shared soon!
First of all, thank you very much for the honour of testing this more than amazing map. I don't think I'm giving too much away when I write here that you all might be freaking out very soon
Take Your time after lots of hard work. We'll wait patiently on this megaproject. It's gonna be the best map BeamNG player ever step on.
When a child is born into this world, it marks the beginning of a profound journey for both the child and the parent. From the very first breath, parents are there to nurture, protect, and guide their little one. They provide the love and support needed for the child to grow and thrive, celebrating each milestone along the way and helping them reach their full potential. I see Barbent Servo GT's 'Homerange' as this child, finally released into the BeamNG World and eventually reaching it's full potential. Thank you Barbent Servo GT for your dedication and passion to your craft, celebrating the release of this wonderful creation. ...and also a big thank you to the Beta Testers 'Leo Zieger' and 'AlexKidd71' for helping in the delivery of this fine creation.
Thank you "M D Gourley" for your kind words! But it is not released yet! Please give me just a little patience. Just a few days + repo approval. But, yeah, you're absolutely right. It is a child to me . I will inform here, when I have sent the DL link to the BeamNG team.
I'm looking forward to this long relaxing rides, where shade will be overheating and i'll be walking around while waiting for cooldown
