This is beautiful!! As an American, my only exposure to Chernobyl is in relation to the tragic disaster. I'm so grateful to be able to see what it was like when it was thriving! I can't imagine how much time and effort goes into something like this...good luck!
not sure, on the first page it says the map hasn't been updated since january 2024 but i may be wrong since the dev is still replying to this thread
I mean in 1991 there was no one living there, the Chernobyl disaster took place in 86, but yes I agree. this map looks amazing and I'm excited for updates on it!!
The brutalist concrete-fest that is Pripyat is absolutely beautiful as much as it is fascinating. One day before I die, hopefully before my disabilities completely cripple me, I will get to see it in real life. When seeing it up clone in Stalker SoC for the first time, I was absolutely mind-blown. It's just so alien if you're from the USA or some other similar place in the world, so different. Such an avoidable tragedy has befallen the area, but I can't help but feel a bit of sadness as half of my relatives descended from that area. Don't give up on this, but do give folks a chance to play what is already here. DO backup, and backup files frequently, especially when starting a new game version, so that game bugs yet to be discovered do not eat the level / your progress. Take it from me, I mess a LOT of stuff up before/during/after I (try to) make great things. For whenever I've gotten something right, I've gotten 9 others very wrong. So entirely, do back up all the time to protect yourself not only from game bugs but also from hard drive / SSD 'crashes' or data loss, crypto-bugs, or other hardware / software failure. Good luck with your endeavor, and keep up the good work!
I've been following this thread for a while, and though I'm not the greatest at being patient, I know that this map will be incredible once it is finished. The Chernobyl disaster as well as eastern European and Soviet Brutalism and architecture are some special interests of mine, and being able to explore in (essentially) the first person will be an amazing experience. Now I've got to make a bet, will I travel to Chernobyl first or will the map release first? Guess we'll have to see. Great work AnDrEw2005
That looks very nice. When do you think you could be able to get some map progress though, or when do you think a potential release date could be?
This is some good stuff right here, @AnDrEw2005 pay attention cuz this could help you with development or at least not loose progress. And to you bob blunderton, i wish you a good day i grew up on playing your maps and watching yt videos of them
