THIS IS A DISCUSSION THREAD. IT WILL BE PENDING ON THE REPO. https://www.beamng.com/resources/beamng-friendly-trailer-straps.33477/ This was a mod developed over a few weeks, it essentially extends triangles into the undercarriage of your cargo which prevents it from sliding around. It works quite well when it does work, it has an adjustable height and strength factor. On the downside: - Sometimes the straps can push the car into the air, in this case you can just live with it until it settles. or you can retract the straps and adjust the vehicle a few inches and try again. - Also the straps can sometimes hold onto the car too well when retracting, essentially pulling it into the trailer deck, sometimes this can be released by rapidly retracting and extending the straps, or using the nodegrabber. - Finally, this can and probably will slightly damage the low middle part of your vehicle, ranging from invisible deformation, to broken exhaust and rarely a leaking oilpan. Enjoy, it has its downsides but i really like using this over the nodegrabber to connect nodes. I really enjoy doing vehicle recoveries with the tiltdeck trailer. 3.5 minute video here if you'd like a demonstration: https://www.reddit.com/r/BeamNG/com...utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1 https://www.reddit.com/r/BeamNG/com...utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1 https://www.reddit.com/r/BeamNG/com...utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1 THIS IS A DISCUSSION THREAD. You park your car on top of two of the straps. then switch to the trailer and with your custom keybind. extend the straps.
They don't look/ work like normal straps, but it's purpose is similar. It's my take on a way to secure vehicles in beamng. straps just makes more sense to the average person.
Sorry. I still don't quite understand. So I turned on these two "straps" in the cargo menu (in the case of a hydraulic platform), drove the car onto them. Then I went to the car settings menu, there are two parameters that I used, but nothing changed. The car just flew off at the first bump in the road. These "straps" did not even rise higher, as in your screenshots, they just stay in place. Do you need a key combination? Okay, I got it. It only works with the key. I'll figure out the other parameters in the settings later.
Sorry I'm not the best at user experience stuff. But you do need a custom key bound in controls. I couldn't figure out how to add default buttons. In the tuning menu you can change the max height (good for offroaders or heavy duty vehicles.) and the strength at which they break.
Had you considered keybinding the height adjustment? Might be a little more user friendly that way. Though I am definitely short on free keys, haha.
