Hey Jorge. Noticed something strange about the sounds on the petrol engines thats kinda hard to explain. It sounds like the pitch of the sound used is a tiny bit too high. when you compare the pitch to a different engine sound, it almost sounds as if the engine is doing 1k more rpm then the other sound. Hope that didnt come out as mumbojumbo.
Issue with the sounds is they were supposed to have been remade for great accuracy, with actual recordings, but the plans fell short, and right now they remain as they are, unfinished modified sounds from the game itself...sadly, not much I can do about it.
Ah. No worries mate. Still sounds better then a lot of other mods with so-called "accurate custom" sounds.
If it's a real-life car, it has to be free regardless of the author's view on paid mods, because charging for it runs the risk of lawsuits from manufacturers. Technically it's already an IP violation to put any real-life car into BeamNG without their permission, but as long as no money is being made from their brand, the vast majority of manufacturers don't care. That's not likely to happen, but it is an interesting idea. @JorgePinto how plausible would this be? I assume that playing a whooshing sound when a button is pushed would be very easy to implement as far as custom scripting goes, but the main reason to have working AC (since Beam isn't a survival game where you can get heatstroke) is to simulate the decreased performance from the engine load; I wonder how hard it would be to create a second torque curve with decreased power and switch to it when the AC is on. I know that the Bastion has a "Caged" mode which drastically decreases the engine performance so it's certainly possible. Isn't that basically what the default UKDM "Rallye" is? If even that isn't enough of a factory ricer for you, you could easily take the 1.0L carburated base model and add all of the exterior cosmetic parts from the real Rallye. Or maybe what you're thinking of is an obviously poorly applied fake decal; this and other "yobbo" parts like garish cheap bodykits, subwoofers and backfire kits would be very period-appropriate for this car and are things that would be good to see added eventually.
100% agree on all these answers, right to the point every time. 1-Indeed, that's the main reason, of course as we know it scammers and greedy people will sell poor meshslaps with copyrighted materials everywhere (not only real life brands, but also the original 3D model which is also not our property, so in this very case, it would upset Stellantis and Microsoft...but I hope they don't mind, especially with all the extra work done to it and being honest with the source) but since also a lot of people helped out with the mod, in very crucial areas with honest work involved, it wouldn't be fair, I would need to share the profits with more people (not any problem of course...but back to legal issues)...and finally, let's not forget my standards are really far from "dev-level", so even taking everything to one side for a second, it wouldn't be worth it. Lots of effort behind, definitely, but I both shouldn't and can't. 2-Lots of ideas for added functionality exist of course, I'm aware of really cool things other mods add, but right now I don't feel like asking everywhere for permission to use their scripts, since I can't code those by myself no matter what, I have no idea on how to do it. And of all the things to add, the A/C idea (which could also affect performance) is really low on my list...cool touch, literally, but I don't think is worth the codding efforts. 3-That's exactly what I thought too, the UK-market Rallye is a bad joke by itself, so it kinda fits the purpose of that idea...is definitely not a real Rallye. In any case, since the mod offers quite a lot of parts, I leave to the users to make their custom mix of parts as they please. About aftermarket parts...they definitely fit the car, but they are not my focus right now, since I'm still adding real life versions from the factory, and also, some of those parts would surely require heavy 3D modelling work, which I'm not confortable with...
i love the mod, the only thing i would work on is the engine models, i imagine its hard since there is almost none models avaliable of all the TU variants the mod has (but would be amazing tho) in my country these cars are often used at rallying, but you can find them everywhere, i even saw a cow fit on the back of a 1.4 diesel 205 and actually begin able to move somehow i wonder if you plan on adding lifted offroad variants, they are quiet capable cars with only a basic lift kit and mud tires ^^
Not really in my scope, sorry. Of course, if anyone is willing to expand the mod with...a expansion pack, is more than welcome to reach me and work things out. BTW, yet another example of how serious 4.0 is gonna get...the base gauge cluster was made by me, and was a bit of a wreck, so...bought the actual part to photoscan it at home. (Below is a test made in the junkyard, with very bumpy surfaces)
thanks anyways for the reply! also that junkyard dash...have you thought of a beater configuration? that dash it would fit it very well
Speaking of the diesels, have you figured out what is causing the diesel engined models, including the N/A ones which wouldn't have the turbo as an extra muffler, to be far quieter than the petrol versions? This bug is still present in the latest version.
Unless it's a different bug to the one I'm imagining, it should be very easy to fix; I will probably take a look at it myself.
I wasn't aware of that, since the system seems to be kinda broken at this point, I'm starting from zero...will be functional again for 4.0
It seems that the update after 0.34 broke it (0.34.2.0). I almost forgot to say that I love the deformation it has, it's not like the Covet or any other vanilla vehicle, it deforms more and that makes it more realistic. One of my favourite mods since 2013 tbh. Pretty nice work! Important edit: Tow hitch also doesn't work, it doesn't detect trailers at least in career mode.
Thanks for both the kind words and the bug report, I've double checked the code and well, it works outside of career mode...it uses the exact same code as the Covet, with minor adjustments to the offsets, but should work fine...no idea why not if it's still the case. (Haven't checked career mode yet) (Also, sneak peek to the Green, which I just started doing)
And the Green is done. The update is still a few days ahead since the GTX still needs to be done (barely done any work on it yet) but since it doesn't require as many things as the Green, and the overall review process is underway, hopefully it can be release within this week I'll confirm that as soon as I'm sure it can be done, but should be doable for sure.
I would like to see some interior accesories or some stickers to add a little bit of a more realistic feel to it, but well it's up to you.
