Had it in under 5 minutes at 6+MB/S. I fully expected this to take forever but in fact it was the fastest I've ever switched builds. I'll take it!

So I'm currently updating to the most recent unstable build, it has now suddenly stopped downloading after 554.4 MB. Is anyone else getting this or something similar?

Great update. The map selection screen changed and doesnt show maps properly. Some maps don't load at all.
A lot of things don't work anymore. Still have impact lag because of bad coding and there are more crashes than the previous experimental build.

I find it really stupid that for example with 1 user modded car i can crash into things full speed and not have a little lag before impact and then when i take the same car same physics but with another texture or a little extra light on top and i get bullshit impact lag every time the car hits something. If your going to update anything then fix that nonsense.

The spinning blocks are cool but not enjoyable because of again this impact lag.
It isnt my pc and i seen in a lot of user video's that they have this impact lag as well. Something needs to be fixed.
It isnt my processor so could it be the ram?
I'm willing to bet that every single person on here has encountered this impact lag problem with atleast 1 car or another.
Try the spinning blocks thing and tell me you don't have it when you drive a car into it.

We push an update out because people complain about not enough updates. Now people complain that the experimental buggy update is buggy. Is there any way to win?

Haha i understand. The only thing i'd like to see improved is not graphics lag or anything but the mini lag before impacts on some car models. If i could atleast figure out what the problem is that would be great.
I have a i5 3350p, 8 gigs ram and a geforce 760 gtx so i'm thinking it might be due to slow ram?
People tell me it shouldnt be happening after the first time you crash a loaded car but with some cars it gives me lag on every impact that is over 50km's.
I only really wish that that would get optimized if possible. How the damaged textures or whatever get saved to your ram so it doesnt have to load too much when crashing the car again. That is the explanation i got atleast but
people told me it should only lag on the first time impact after a new spawned vehicle.
Like i said, it cant be a processor problem because i tested it with a car without any addons or textures and it doesnt lag
but then when using that same car, same physics but a different texture or addon like a couple lights like on a police cruiser and the impact lag is horrible and it shouldnt be because it is the same physics as stock model.
It angers me that nobody can tell me why that is.

The slowdowns are probably caused by the physics calculations taking a bit longer than the anticipated 0.5ms or other side effects.
At 0.5ms they can have their 2000 iterations a second polling rate for physics. Because you have 16ms per second for the whole render process you try to keep it below that to have a steady 60 frames per second.
So if the physics eating that buffer up + mesh deformation ha to be calculated aswell = it stutters because occasionally you take longer than 16ms per frame.

Alright thank you for responding. so would the processor be to blame or my ram?
How would i improve such a thing? I notice that when i turn off my virus program and most other programs it helps but it helps little because the problem itself isnt that big. Turning all the graphic options down doesnt help because my videocard pulls the game at max no problem.

I'd say both processor & software is to blame. (Because i'm getting some minimal stuttering on my 3770K aswell sometimes)

some coding/calculation improvements in future updates

Is the WIP part editor non-functional? Also, some things have disappeared from the Ctrl+W part menu, like engine tuning and differential options+when I change the engine to my tuned version, it automatically reverts the whole car's configuration to stock. Sorry if there is already answer somewhere, haven't had the time to search for it.

The WIP part selector is functional. Just use enter and arrow keys.

"Function" is the perfect word. It's not perfect, sometimes it just forgets what you were doing and puts parts back. For example, try removing the front and rear hubcaps from the Sunburst.
