Maybe It's because im hot off the heels of the CCF2 and Gavril Dynamo and other mods, but I believe that allowing for more in-game interactions within the cockpit of the cars, from being able to rise or lower the windows, or being able to use the parking brake with an interactive button from the interior, or being able to use interior lights have made a huge step up in immersion and in my personal experience in-game, making every car feel more and more unique in more ways than just handling, power and cargo, with personalized controls and features that make a "premium car" feel actually premium by giving you a ton of cool electronic toys to play with whereas more basic cars don't. It can also be a way to balance cars in the career mode a little bit better, I know that the balance isn't finished, but higher trim versions of cars can have an actual interactive functional reason to actually be a higher trim instead of cosmetics and alloy wheels.
I agree with you, but for mouse players, the multiple appearance of trigger boxes is not nice, if not annoying. Hiding the entire UI unfortunately also cripples functionality. I would like to have a button for mouse players that supresses/enables the trigger visibility on mouse hoover. And then I would really like lots of functions, like you! Edit: All cars with many trigger functions are experienced differently by mouse players. It is characterized by the constant flashing of trigger boxes while driving.
I got the feeling that the trigger cubes ever since introductions are more so a "visible placeholder" than how every interactive function will end up being like. But a decent solution to that problem could be to have the interactive buttons "glow" with an outline when the mouse comes close to them. Just like how the boxes are invisible unless the mouse pointer is near them, but in a less notorious way.
something like DCS would be awesome. But you would need a total camera revamp and maybe a vehicle scale adjustment too
