That's a solid default config choice! I used to rock an SRT8 Charger back in '06, and the Bastion Battlehawk was an important project to inject as much input into as I could! The things I used to get up to in that car.. new tires were a weekly occurrence haha, glad camera phones weren't a thing - oh man I've never felt so old!

The bastion was my favorite as soon as it came out, (followed closely by the sunburst [fingers crossed we're getting that remaster i've dreamed about]) so I guess I should thank you then! Would you have happened to have driven a 2010 Chevrolet Camaro SS by any chance? ;).

If I drove a Charger IRL I would be in a wall faster than you could say "DON"T FLOOR IT!!!"

Actually yes, only briefly though. I took a 2010 SS a short spin around a mall parking lot one time, Chevy hosted some sort of "get in it, try it out for yourself" event locally. Wasn't enough to get out of 1st, but it was such a cool car at the time, and of course it was Bumblebee yellow. ;)

Looking forward to a Sunburst improvement as well, the tame Sports RS config is something I've loved from day one. Mind you... I *did* see some new door panels on a teaser Tuesday recently, makes ya wonder!

Cool!. I'd mod in a lore friendly one if I could. I'd shove it under the rather empty Soliad brand.
    Indeed.

I just had a brain fart and thought of an idea. What if we had a street drag racing mode like in some Need for speeds!

I don't really think it would fit under the Soliad brand. I think Soliad's more of a luxury subsidiary of Bruckell (Gavril already has too many cars), like Toyota and Lexus, Ford and Lincoln, etc.
Basically, I think a lore-friendly Camaro would fit better under the Bruckell brand

Yes street racing is a huge point of excitement for us as well. Red-light racing is something I've been after for awhile now, and other traffic-related racing. The dev involved with the drag racing gameplay has done some really great under-the-hood stuff from a gameplay-mechanics perspective, and we've discussed moving it forward to the streets. Now I say drag-racing here because it's a continuation of the drag racing style, "3..2..1.. race to the end whoever gets there first wins" but that's really all a street race is anyway, there are just a few more turns and longer lengths involved. I don't want to get too into the details with it, but it's planned and testing is on the horizon, we just haven't gotten to it yet so I can't promise anything just yet!

My uneducated opinion here, I'd stuff it under the Gavril brand myself!

Oh come on, Gavril has literally twice the amount of vehicles as Bruckell, and plus, Gavril seems to focus more on the more heavy-duty vehicles, while Bruckell is already mostly just a normal car company

Bruckell Bastion can't bein the same family as a Camaro though, them's fightin' words!! :D

This is the sort of lore I'd love to bury into the career, but that's cheery-on-top stuff for later.

Well Bruckell and Gavril both already have 2 muscle cars, and those muscle cars all seem like dodges or fords to me so I figured i'd fill Soliad's lack of muscle with something like a Chevy. Also the lexus LC500 is basically a Japanese muscle car imho. Not to mention Oldsmobile was a premium brand. (RIP you magnificent B*stard)

This is all assuming I had the time, motivation, and patience to actually do this though.

*Cough* Bruckell has literally twice the amount of cars Soliad has. *Cough*

We already got the Barstow IV as the Mustang, so why not a new Moonhawk as the Camaro?
    I guess I can't argue with that :p
also, can you PLEASE stop spelling Bruckell like that??

Seeing all the action in here as of late, I thought I'd throw in my two cents.

Love the career mode so far, the updated time trials are fantastic, and its getting so much better every update.
However, I've noticed a few things as I play through Id like to address.

First, I don't know if its by design or not, but a vast majority of the time trial vehicles are automatics, making the cars sluggish and clunky to drive even when manually shifting them

Second, more garage spots would be fantastic. I always wind up with too many cars and cant decide which one to let go when I find that killer deal in the marketplace.

Third, adding to that, It would be great if trailers didn't take up garage space or had their own separate garage.

Great work so far, and I love where this is going!

Having "looked under the skirt" of the current AI code for an upcoming RLS project. It looked to me like there are a lot of system relying heavily on depreciated code. This would explain a lot of the dumb decisions that the traffic makes, along with the generally questionable driving. Mainly it is the reason why it's so challenging to get the AI to work properly in a race setting.

I had considered attempting machine learning integration into the AI, but it would take probably over 2 months of solid work to make an acceptable product, and I have a day job (so 3x the time needed). Pretty much, I'd have to completely rewrite the entire AI system and do a ground up approach. This would not be feasible for a solo individual with limited time. I can't really see the current AI system being a long term solution (no offense).

    Hey mustangporsche67,
I’m right there with you—I’d love to see these changes too! The tricky part is that our patch release schedule and Career Mode development don’t always sync up. For example, we might plan something ambitious like a "delivery mode" with trailer pickup, precision parking, trailer depots, and truck warehouses, but just as we’re digging into the UI, it’s time to wrap up for a workable release. That means features like precision parking or separate trailer storage often get sidelined. Then, after launch, we’re fixing bugs based on community feedback (thanks for that, by the way!), and by the time we circle back, other priorities have pulled team members in different directions. It becomes a choice: polish up delivery gameplay or push forward with the UI and backend systems. Too often, we’re cut short again.

It’s a real challenge! The Career Mode team is small—just two core developers, with a couple of others pitching in on gameplay support. Most of us juggle multiple projects, and when we need help from other teams, they’re usually knee-deep in their own work too. It’s a great problem for a busy studio to have, but it’s tough when you’re trying to nail down what seem like “simple” gameplay tweaks. Still, I’m blown away by how supportive and enthusiastic the community has been about Career Mode despite these hurdles. We’re plugging away at it, and feedback like yours keeps us motivated—thanks for chiming in! =)

As a non-programmer type myself, I love your machine learning idea—it excites me too! But as you said, it’s a huge job, taking months even full-time. Our AI’s a bit of a tangle from years of growth, and while we’d love to redo it, we’re spread thin across projects. Reworking it always ends up breaking something else along the way, so small changes are made and massive effects ripple out - our number one goal is maintaining mod support through backward compatibility. To reiterate though, we’re talking about racing AI upgrades, and hearing feedback like yours helps a ton. No offense taken—your thoughts match our struggles. Thanks for sharing, and thanks for understanding!

Thank you so much! Of course, very little about developing this gamemode is a small or easy task, and I really appreciate how involved you guys are getting the community in this, something all game devs should aspire to do. As you are a small team, I completely get not being able to get everything you want done in time, and I love how you guys still try to!

Appreciate it, thank you very much for saying that - growing up reading PC Gamer and other gaming magazines, the transparency of game studios was always my favorite part of the reads - outside of the juicy new shots of upcoming games of course - and I always swore that I'd do my best to help involve a game's community if I was ever given the chance, so it means a lot to hear! :)

Quite off topic, however a little too coincidental not to share!

That's a picture my buddy snapped, turns out it was July 2009, and they also gave me a $10 gas card, so I couldn't pass it up - can't see me I'm in the driver's seat. This popped up as I was searching for a completely unrelated pic. I don't want to derail the conversation, but as I said, far too coincidental since I haven't seen this picture in easily over 10 years haha.

Cool. I'd love the chance to drive one of those bad boys. The 5th gen Camaro is my favorite muscle car of all time.

Anyway, back on track. I look forward to seeing what's new/improved in Career mode for 0.35!
