Hopeful that we not only get a remastered sunburst but an older official variant. (with a Richard Burns & Colin McRae & Ken Block homage config)
Don't forget the Richard Burns special editions! But yeah, along with the Rally variants, a Gymkhana config would be amazing!!
I can't wait to drive a cvt na boxer hatch if they add hatches --- Post updated --- what gen impreza would closely match sunburst years?
'92-01 would be the closest IMO. You could probably also argue '06-07 because of the hawkeye style headlights the Sunburst has.
The Sunburst is listed as 2009-2014 ingame, so it's an analogue to the 3rd gen Impreza which was around for 2008-'11 (WRX production ending in 2014), as well as a bit of the 4th gen from 2012-'16. The Sunburst does look a bit old for the early 2010s, mainly in that the grille is too small, but I don't really want them to change the base styling too much. They might do a pre or post facelift, though whether that'll be within the current 2009-'14 timeframe or an extension of the production remains to be seen.
I bet its probably an SBR engine. Definitely something a real life manufacturer would do. But a new lower displacment option would be cool. (10k RPM boxer anyone?)
the model looks to be the same as the flat 4 in the sbr4 (which makes sense) but it does seem to feature more of a typical wrx sound instead of the raspy noise of the sbr4
Im hoping there will be special edition rally configs and maybe a hatch or wagon. The current Sunburst already drives very well despite the quality being poor in my opinion. I've been vocalizing the textures for years, and it's even in my signature, so I'm glad the Sunburst is finally getting some love. Now I'm hoping for the Burnside next.
It indeed is the SBR engine. The black quadruple intake plenum below the intercooler piping (and next to the single turbocharger intake piping) is exactly the same design as the SBR's 2.0 and 2.5 Boxer 4s. A new, lower displacement Boxer 4 makes absolute sense for a basic variant, as does the CVT (although I hope that the high performance variants retain the DCT but still, having a high performance car with a CVT is something Subaru has been doing for quite some time now, so I'm curious). I'm also curious to test the new Sport S variant (not the Sport RS one). It's probably the sweet spot in the Sunburst range, with its restrained styling and great performance, especially with the DCT!
also remember that exhaust systems control the engine sound more than the engine itself it could just be a regular sbr engine with a different exhaust the reason boxers sound like that is because they mostly all use uneven length exhaust headers if you put even exhaust headers on a boxer, it sounds like a regular inline engine if you put uneven exhaust headers on an inline, it sounds like a boxer engine
I do think its slighty too early for the update, maybe week or two more atleast. There is also this reddit comment, but I doubt it's related to 0.35.
PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THINGS BEAMNG!!! FIX VULCAN FOR LOW END SYSTEMS BEFORE YOU DO THIS!!! --- Post updated --- my RX570 runs it fine in DirectX (60 FPS Idle in WCUSA), but the FPS plummets when I use Vulcan. (15 FPS idle in WCUSA) AND RIGHT WHEN THEY ARE RELEASING MY GODD*NM DREAM UPDATE!!!
