I'm not usually the kind of person to ask this, but which post is the latest version of this mod? The problem with these threads is patches and files get tossed around by various users, so it's hard to find which is the best or most up-to-date version to download.
Did some work on it, half way done with adding proper baked lights, improved a few little things and mainly added Roush parts
Since going with the laissez-faire approach regarding the S550 Mustang mod, there have some more developments by other people within this thread. And I might as well address them while I'm at it, considering that I might return to make another update to the mod (more on that in a bit). The first one I will mention is the standalone version from ItsjustaViper, and no disrespects to him, but some of the additions aren't exactly my cup of tea (namely the Hemi engine swaps). Other changes are what I find acceptable though (drift steering for instance). Given that I went with a hands-off policy a few years ago, all I can say is that it's an option if anyone fancies customizing their 'stang to the greatest extent. And it seems like there's quite a sizeable number of folks, so I'll let it be The next one is the changes from LoveHorizon earlier today. For a long time, I really wanted to implement the Roush bits, but I didn't had the motivation nor time to do so. Huge kudos to him for finally getting that taken care of! Baked glowmaps are also a nice touch, and I hope to see these changes in the future! Maybe I could incorporate them in my subsequent update (which I will discuss next) And to everyone else, I appreciate the continued support! With some motivation coming back, I may consider updating the mod once more to include a few more changes to better futureproof the mod. I could even strike a few more things off the to-do list, such as the Hennessey and Shelby Supersnake bits (those would be the easier ones to deal with IMO). At the moment, there's no ETA on when the next update from me will happen, but I can say for certain that it will be sometime this year if all goes well
The reason i even put in the hemi/hellcat swaps, drift steering, etc was mainly because I wanted to see if I could do it, and make a version that had a ton of options from other mods/cars into one mod instead of using a bunch of different S550 mods. Which if I'm honest, I didn't do it very well. I made a ton of mistakes with it, I was wayy too confident, and I don't feel like I genuinely improved it, rather that I caused more problems/bugs with my attempts at updating it. I feel bad/embarassed everytime I see a but report and/or see that my version broke something in someones game, especially when I don't know how to fix/replicate it. It's the primary reason I haven't done any updates, or really touched the car in a long time is because I don't want to break it more. I feel like I kinda threw myself in the deep end of the diving section of modding. If anyone uses and/or likes my version, that's great. But also I think that it would be better to probably wait until someone releases an update, since there's a good chance that you'll have a better experience with that version than mine. Especially with the recent screenshots, I feel like @baarry5444 and @Lovehorizon will make a monumentally better version than I ever could. This mod put me in my place when it comes to modding, and I have a ton of respect for the modding community. TLDR: The version i put out is basically me attempting to throw parts at a mod, and the result wasn't great, and I'm not proud of what I came up with. Eventually, I'm sure there'll be a ton of better versions/updates to the S550 than I could, and I'm keen to see where this mod goes
Thing is I did those changes in just one evening. But, I mean if the feedback is positive and you don't plan on updating it anytime soon I could do more, mainly in improvements not necessarily parts. If you think I should go for it and allow me to publish it then maybe I will. I don't have enough time currently to finish my Aventador mod but I could do small updates on your stang. And this actually goes for everyone. Is there demand? And if so what shall I add? --- Post updated --- Also Also don't be so hard on yourself, I haven't tried your version but you did some cool additions and respect for actually getting it public and done even if it's not perfect
Thank you for informing me about what was behind the scenes regarding your version! I understand you have no bad intentions of updating a public mod that hasn't seen any recent updates, since I was expecting someone would eventually get around to it. Everyone has to start somewhere, and even if it isn't perfect, it's still something at least. As mentioned, there are many people who appreciate your version! I may try to salvage whatever is usable and combine it for a potential future update on my end, as I would not want any of that effort to go to waste. The drift steering for example can be reused. I might be more open to non-Ford engine swaps if they have been done in the real world. We'll see I'm aware that you're working on an Aventador mod. Though there will demand for a Lamborghini as always, there's still plenty of demand for a decent Mustang mod, so go figure. I'm impressed that you got the Roush parts and some baked lights done within a day, whereas it would have taken me several days at most. Given that it is a public mod, I don't mind if you post your updated version as a standalone mod in this thread; I see no problems with ItsjustaViper posting his version after all. In the meantime, if you find something else you want to improve upon, then feel free to do so! For example, openable panels is something a great many people have asked for. There might be some JBeam issues that you could attempt to improve. And anything similar in scope to adding the Roush parts are also appreciated, just to name a few examples. I have not started with my next update yet, so I can wait until you finish yours and then I can add a few more minor details
Openables are definitely a thing, but have to see, the jbeam is based on the etk K right? I just hope, with some older mods the doors aren't properly hinged so you may know, are they on this? Otherwise I'll have to besides making them openable also change the door jbeam
out of curiosity has this been released? just read it thoroughly once more and realised you were halfway done with it my bad
Yes, the S550 mod's JBeam structure was based on the K-Series. In theory, it would be relatively straightforward to adapt the openable panels. The problem is that said structure dates back several game versions before that feature was implemented officially, so extensive editing might be required. It is doable since some older mods got them retrofitted; I believe the doors, hood, and trunk are properly hinged, but I'm not sure how much work will be needed here. Feel free to experiment with openable panels though. If it's not feasible, then there's no need to continue doing that. Other improvements to the JBeam structure (such as fixing instability issues) where applicable would be appreciated

This is probably the best Coyote engine sound samples I've heard so far. The initial version of the mod has samples from Forza Motorsport 7, and they don't represent the V8 engine properly to my knowledge. Hence why I switched to the vanilla sounds as a placeholder. So at least the audio aspect was improved. Having watched the video, I believe there is some room for improvement for other aspects. For instance, the old afterfire sounds should be replaced with the newer ones, which should be simple to address. And more importantly, I will attempt to improve the sequential turn signal functionality found on the actual vehicle. When the hazards/emergency lights are turned on, the taillights' sequential turn signals are disabled and all portions of the taillights flash on and off accordingly to its turn signal cycle. This should be doable as long as I experiment around with the Lua code.
Really? Had no clue about that hazards thing. But then again? When unlocking I feel they have sequentials no? I've seen some like that irl, but maybe they had aftermarket tails. In terms of after fire, I really haven't touched it yeah, maybe I'll even add custom after fire sounds it's not that hard to do --- Post updated --- Oh and whats Ur discord then I can ask about things you'd want added better than here on the forums. Also you may know some issues I haven't found yet
Worked on Voodoo v8 sounds along with adding the Shelby Code Red cams, also added, tinted taillights, exterior trim options, matte plastic and glossy trim depending on model, ecoboost high peformace package front bumper, an aftermarket wickerbill, louvers, a proper Roush supercharger with working pulleys etc and more! Soon other lights beside the headlights will also be improved. If you have suggestions lmk! --- Post updated --- --- Post updated ---
Now all the light textures have been baked and redone. The last pic you can see how they used to be, not bad but they needed remaking for sure
