I actually have nearly the exact same issue as you on my system which is significantly better and actually somewhat recent
    Ryzen 7 5800X and a RX 6900XT
At this point ive just accepted it for what it is since the game is still playable at 50fps but it definitely feels like my hardware should be running the game faster than it is on the game

    Both
Vulkan boosts it up a little bit but its still unstable in the newest version and the underlying issue of low CPU/GPU usage is there

So i do plan on building a PC with $2000 USD budget (not factoring case price) and it's an AMD based build. Is it worth going with AMD or are most issues resolved?
    PC BUILD BELOW

    CPU: Ryzen 7 9700x
    CPU Cooling: ID-cooling FX360 Pro
    MOBO: Asus Prime B650 Plus
    RAM: TeamGroup T-Force 32gb
    STORAGE: Samsung 990 Pro 2tb
GPU: XFX Speedster Merc 310 Radeon RX 7900 XR 20gb
PSU: Corsair RM750E 80+ Gold Certified
    CASE: N/A yet

Whats the benefit for you of going with an AMD GPU, do you just prefer them or do you need them for something specific? Personally I would say its best to have an AMD CPU and then an Nvidia GPU, then you can still utilise AMD's FSR and other things like that, but then you can also utilise Nvidia's DLSS, DLAA etc etc. Then as a bonus you also dont have to worry about the AMD compatability

I myself personally switched to a 7900 XTX at the start of this year due to lacking performance of my 3070 in many games due to the low VRAM which wasn't enough for 1440p and I haven't had any problems in BeamNG or any other games yet. My reason for going with AMD was that I didn't agree with Nvidias pricing anymore even before the 5000 gen cards released and I've so far been very happy with my decision and another good thing about AMD cards rn is that you don't have to worry about the psu connectors melting or burning

Yeh i agree with the VRAM, I currently run a 3070ti and it would definitely benefit from 12gb VRAM instead of 8gb.
Also im just curious here but have you noticed any considerable difference between them since upgrading, obviously the AMD card is slightly higher rated than the 3070, but things like temperature and stability, is the AMD one better?
Just because Im thinking of upgrading to AM5 soon and ill want a new GPU to go with it too, still not sold on whether to get a 4000 series or try out AMD for a change

The 7900 XTX isn't just slightly higher in terms of performance than a 3070, keep in mind that in rasterizing it performs similar to a 4080 Super, with raytracing it's about on terms with a 4070 Super. In terms of stability I haven't had any problems yet and temperature I don't know at all since I don't really have a hardware monitor open at all times. also AMD recently released the 9070 XT which is their competitor to the 5000 series which performance wise has been really great though they have been really hard to get at msrp

No single benefit that i can think or disadvantage honestly. I've been away from BeamNG for more than 4 years now and just don't know what's worth building for it. I know it's a bit silly to waste $2k on a build that's mainly focused on BeamNG but that's just the plan

Beam is worthy of having a $2k pc built for it for sure

@bngdoodaus same performance as with 0.34 for me. Have you checked in safe mode if it might be something related to mods you use or other issues with your install?

Well, I got an RX 570, and I've been having no issues other than most maps not loading on vulkan and I suspect that may be a driver issue
