your JP tour car remains to be one of the best beam mods to date. Absolute gold. Any chance of an update? or a few jeeps to go with it?
So regarding the mod, I'll get back to it soon, but I first want to take a break since the 205 update took way too long, so as soon as there is anything new to share, I'll do it. Thanks, but not sure right now why it should need an update (haven't checked it for a while to be honest...) and regarding the Jeeps, that was already been done before, but in any case, I'm not doing new mods so it really depends on others.
So...the Safari is finally starting to exist. I kinda regret doing this the way I did, since the RHD parts were left without the mapping I did for the LHD ones, which means at this point it was easier to turn the already mapped LHD parts into RHD ones...anyway, starting to look right. Also, as I shared on Discord, I noticed the unit scanned for the game came from the Nissan Heritage Museum, and I managed to track down the actual car the museum bought...which has an aftermarket cassette player installed on top of the OEM unit. So that oversight went all the way to the game, but not here anymore, since I made the OEM radio for both LHD and RHD versions, as seen in here:
Almost there. Some details still left to finish, but it's mainly done by now...all specific jbeams, such as the spare holder and mirrors operate as expected, since thankfull the D-Series have very similar parts, which ensures foundation-level compatibility. (Yup, just noticed the Patrol has the plate in the wrong spot, was fixed after the pic was taken )
It may have taken several months since the last version, but I am excited to see more updates on the Patrol mod! Since the 4Runner, 205, and Defender mods received updates recently, it would be inevitable that the final vehicle of the "holy trinity off-roaders" will get one. Even though North America never got the Patrol until 2017 (as the Armada of course), it's still nice to see a classic off-roader of the 80s being implemented in the game. I'm hoping that you'll keep the aftermarket radio with its cassette player as an optional component, just in case someone really wants to recreate the Nissan Heritage Museum example. I thought it was an OEM option in the Forza series, but it still fits the era nonetheless, right around the peak of the cassette tape's popularity. Though there isn't much for me to assist at this time, I'm still anxious on what other changes are in progress
Thank you! Yes, the cassette player will remain an option, but the OEM will be the standard choice, I'll release the update this week, the thing here is that I don't see this mod having as many configs as the other cars, but hopefully will grow anyway overtime (a few other markets, and later years for sure...maybe the high canopy version with barn doors, we'll see)
And it's out! Added Safari Turbo AD config Includes all the necessary RHD parts to recreate the car Based on the original Safari from Forza, but with modified parts to increase accuracy Adds the actual OEM radio as standard, with the cassette player being optional now Mirrors can be folded Rear spare tire holder works as intended, being able to be opened to the side, and being necessary to open the rear hatch first Adds specific license plates both for the front and rear Adds a specific livery with lower half black/upper half colored body Added working snorkel (standard for now in the Safari) Added 2 new engine choices (thanks to alexator): 3.0L I6 Performance 3.2L I6 Added new skins (thanks to @Fringey) #732 Old Man Emu #78 Kamikaze Raygun Wave Green Added smooth lights Added yellow square plates Fixed underside not being black coated Fixed front halfshafts and axle being too easily breakable (thanks to alexator) Fixed incorrect naming for the Carburatted Intake on the I6 Diesel (thanks to alexator) Fixed front indicators being see-through from the back (thanks to @Fringey )
Thank you for the update! But I am confused, why does it say Turbo on the livery? It is not a turbo, in fact the engine of the configuration hasn´t even got Turbo option.
I'm not sure if it's a bug or not but the car can drive straight it turns left slightly when I'm driving.
Slowly one at a time. Don't overwhelm him. And don't think that he will do it right away. He will not.
