I could too. I'll even go a step further. The "normalization" of paid mods is sucking the creativity out of the modding community. Every kid who knows just barely enough to make a functioning meshslap and/or barely functioning scratch made vehicle thinks its worth charging real, hard earned money for. While I also don't necessarily have a problem with paid "premium" content (LBE, Theo/Finn, LJ, etc) , It must be said that a few of these creators have made an unnecessary "push" to make sure that nearly all premium content should be paid and anyone who speaks out of line gets mocked and/or labeled "broke" or "unsupportive" for even asking/suggesting that it be free. It really has divided this community IMO.

I will say that there has definitely been a surplus in paid mods, as of current a third of the mods that are on the front page of the land section are paid which was not the case a year or two ago, and that people (including me) sometimes push people who are not 100% with the idea of paid mods out of the discussion but I don't think it's completely divided the community apart like you said, it's not like people who are against paid mods can't communicate with other people with the opposite opinion.

I do believe though that he meant that he made a new model based on the ATS model. If it's not directly ripped from ATS and isn't using the original model, then I dont believe that's illegal and if it isn't, there shouldn't be any legal issue with SCS. Likely needs a lore friendly rebrand though, which would just be changing the logos.

Yeah sometimes people push those that are not 100% with the idea of paid mods but that's not completely dividing the community, it's not like I can't have a peaceful conversation with someone who is against paid mods

Hello friends! I have read your comments carefully and I will explain why I decided to do this. 3D model from ATS was taken as a sample. It is not suitable for BeamNG. The interior with the cabin does not match, the mesh is not designed for deformation, chassis, bottom, underhood space is not worked out at all. You can safely say that the 3D is made anew. Dimensioning and texturing 100% done by me. This is a high quality mod that I worked on for a year. Originally planned to make it free. But YouTube stopped paying me. And I'm forced to make it paid, which would pay off a year of work. I'll think about rebranding it and I might call it something else. Thanks for listening!

If you do chose to rebrand it, I think it should be Wenward or maybe something entirely new. I just don't think Gavril really suits, but after all it's just my opinion.

Exactly my point. Furthermore, it has started a whole new culture of dare I say "worship" for these "top level" creators that is also super annoying. I mean, look at the LBE Barstow for example. That thing, while great overall, has a laundry list of issues especially considering it is PAID. Broken drift steering, door glass that glitches out in a crash, severe lack of customization, etc. Not only that, but its been 3 months since the release and we've only been hinted at an update that brings the bare minimum (bug fixes, few new drivetrain options, etc) But you bring that up in the thread and everybody immediately jumps on the defense for Lucas. I get it, It was a lot of work, but criticism should not only be encouraged, it should theoretically be taken more seriously when tens of thousands of people shelled out REAL money for the product.

For a future update of the mod, would you consider adding parts for an International LT? The two trucks are essentially the same vehicle, with the main differences being the hood, bumper, and sideskirts.

Well, in a similar case, someone was making a Freightliner C2 school bus, with a custom model they were making themself as I recall. The bus wasn't even in BeamNG, let alone even finished in Blender, yet and the author got hit with a cease and desist and they nuked the thread. Its very possible that International can do the same if they so desired, especially given this is way further in terms of progress than the C2 was, and this is based upon a pre-existing game model.

    I hope so =)

It's not going to be quick. Actros was made for a specific race and a lot of work needs to be done to release a full mod.
    --- Post updated ---
The Gavril T is very similar to the old International because of the twin vertical headlights. It would be logical to present my mod as its modern version.
    --- Post updated ---
Yes, the cab and chassis are the same. I can't promise, there are a lot of projects. People are asking for a Mercedes Actros that will be in the race. We are also working on an innovative camper. Totally my design.

I think it's more accurate to say that the mod is modeled after

If the company watches the future video clip, they will be satisfied. The truck passed the race epically, a good advertisement for the International company

That absolutely will not happen. If the company does happen to act on this in the future, it will almost definitely be in the form of a cease and desist order or a warning at the very least. They most certainly aren't looking for free advertising and wouldn't want any of the risk of negative publicity that may come from having their model in Beam. They WILL however love to sue you over it and take your money. Sounds crazy, right? Well, that's how large companies and their lawyers operate. (The case of the freightliner C2 was a great example) You have two things working against you here. 1. The model is NOT your own no matter how much you modify or rebuild parts of it, or beat around the bush saying it was "based on" the model from ATS, it was still "borrowed" from ATS (I'm sure SCS Software wouldn't be too fond of this either). 2. You're attempting to monetize a model that is not only officially branded, but again is NOT scratch made. I suggest, at the very least, you make it "lore friendly" and remove any and all official branding from it, but the fact that you're still attemping to sell it is risky business alone.

The mod isn't ready for sale yet and can be remade as a fictional brand with minimal differences. Proving the involvement of ATS will not be possible either, the 3D model and mesh does not match the original. Thanks for the info, you've helped me a lot =)

Well, even if I'm not the biggest fan of the concept of paid mods, anywhere really, I still would hate to see the work you have already done (getting it into BeamNG at all and its current good-looking state) get wiped away and never shared or completed because of the unexpected case you do get a cease and desist from International or SCS. Better to be safe than sorry.

Plus, I do like the idea of a lore-friendly modern T-Series because I've wanted that as much as the next user XD
