My first impressions with the alpha? AMAZING! Just one thing though, when I skid around, the marks are yellow and say "NO Material." What do I do to fix this?

Even rims break and exhausts come off. Really impressive! I'm buying Alpha :)
I get a very good frame rate in windowed mode (see pic for 'windowed mode example') but I get some lag in full screen (quite strange, because there are not so many more pixels in fullscreen (compared with windowed mode)). Could someone explain this to me? thanks.

I think it's a current bug if you load a map, exit to the main menu, and then load another map. Just reload the game. :)

Steering seems to break rather easily on the pickup truck. Apart from that pretty good, performance was good also I'll need to try out the full alpha when I get home.

The game works fine and it is amazing! I have one question: how do you switch through vehicles? Wiki says "TAB and SHIFT + TAB: switch through vehicles" but that doesn't make any sense:confused:

awesome demo - good options - and opportunities
part-configuration is great feature too (very like it)
    have a lot of fun

but some things are a bit annoying in the demo
this is camera that is sometimes late to turn (can not see where you're drive)
(i want harder follow of camera or some configs\commands for setting camera)
and I have not found how to change key-binding (for example i want "parking brake" on "space" button.. not "P")
also lighting is heavy on fps.. (in full-screen)

PS. tomorrow I'll go buy the alpha : ]
I hope for a great modding possibilities - I want to make my car and a garage with the environment (maybe some track)

Enjoying it immensely! One thing I noticed is that the off-road tyres in the demo are the base material, yet in Yotaak's screenie earlier in the thread they are textured. A texture missing from the demo maybe? Other than that great job, and that cave is perfect for demonstrating the lighting, although it seems impossible to get out of with the D15. I'll be purcasing tomorrow, have had a bit of a crazy night.

I have g27 and when i turn my wheel at high speed it is not linear, as of when in a stop the wheels turn as you turn the steering wheel. Im not sure if its some sort of deadzone or something. Im using the techdemo, and sorry for my bad english.
What i mean is that the faster you go the less the steering wheel turns ingame than i turn my wheel.

Just downloaded it. It's awesome, but I'm getting terrible fps. Maybe I just need a better computer. :(

It is dynamic steering for gamepads and keyboards, press Shift + B in-game to enable 1:1 control from your wheel.

I have bough the alpha and my first impression is WOOOAAAA!! It goes at full settings in 1280x1024 and is wonderful, i see it go clear also on the mountain fall with other vehicles.

Now my question is: How to spawn an other vehicle whithout replacing the old one?

Great work! Only problem is that my computer only has 2 gb of RAM. I thought it was 4 :(. That's a user problem though. I'm sure it will be fantastic once I get more RAM!

    BeamNG Guys...tdev...lfjhutch..gabester etc

Fantastic job. It's truly brilliant tech and you've done a great job implementing that tech in a way that is fun to play in some really well designed landscape. The physics are for the most part pretty revolutionary (both damage and handling). The handling in particular are a little rough around the edges, but the core is solid and is at a great place to build on and already better than most driving games, even if it's a little difficult to control the cars.

I really love the customisation, and the fact all the car parts are modelled. That really is neat.

So first impressions are a very solid 9/10 and you should be really happy.

And now for my constructive criticism:

    1) The camera is hard to use with the right analogue stick. It feels all weird and confusing. I'd love a simple option in the menu to flip the camera controls around and stuff
    2) The cars handling while realistic in many aspects, feels difficult to point the cars, they feel somewhat vague and inprecise - I often find myself over or under correcting even when trying to drive in a straight line, though i'm sure i'll get better
    3) Large rollovers seem to leave cars largely undamaged so long as they don't hit an object other than the ground.
    4) The sound of the tyres could do with improving. The audio is also totally glitchy on internal view. The engine sounds are actually perfectly fine for now.
    5) It's just a simple bug, but I can't quit to main menu, it just crashes.
    6) Vehicle resetting needs a better system. It resets you to a previous point and I can't figure out how to change it, if you are stuck in the water and reset you are basically screwed as far as I can tell. A good system is GTA4 with a vehicle spawner, the vehicles generally spawn in the nearest open unobstructed place.
    7) Oh yeah and i'd advise everyone to turn off VSync, it majorly rapes performance and it slows the whole simulation down loads and then it suddenly catches up with itself and the car goes flying 20 meters forward, and my system is a pretty powerful gaming rig.

But seriously, best of luck with it all. Now it's time to invest all of that new cash to make it even better ;)

    1. Awesome! (and gosh dangit, I need a new computer soon xD )
    2. I can't move the camera around with the mouse?
    3. And I can't get the xbox controller to work, it says its just plug and play, but no?
