AdR? The same AdR who did cars for Carmageddon?
Awesome. Now if only Slayer, Autopilot & Econobrick would do cars for BeamNG. They've all moved on from modding though, I think. Haven't seen them around the CWA boards in ages

Same guy here, yes, good to see another old timer around these forums!

I wonder where those guys are... I've made myself a career out of modding C2 (back when it wasn't even called "modding"! hehe), that's how I've started into 3D modeling, I guess they decided to go another way. Would be cool to have them around these days, I'm sure they'll make some really cool stuff with today's software.

Nowadays modding communities are mostly a bunch of kids stealing models from other games and posting stupid things, sooo boring.

    Hah, tell me about it.
I remember when conversions were a uncommon practice, especially for Midtown Madness 1 and 2. For MM2, guys like Riva3D would convert cars from ToCA, Forza, Gran Turismo, NFS, and whatnot to MM2, most of these mods were good, had accurate performance and interiors, I loved those, despite my trusty Emachines computer blowing up while trying to load more than one.

Nowadays, people just slap on a model on a basic frame and charge $5-10 for them, in the case of games like Assetto Corsa, RoR, BeamNG...

This is really cool, considering I have a 1973 Nova. Never thought I'd see a Nova in a game like this. Good job man!

I too used to play the crap out of carmageddon 2 with your cars, my all time favorite car of yours was the black blown 68' charger that would launch wheelies with the handbrake (which without powerups like afterburner and hotrod blew my mind).
The nova is shaping up great, i especially like the wheel flex on it, the tires slosh around on the rim like true 14'/15' inch wheels did in the day

    That looks hot!

The physics on my C2 cars were a bit on the unrealistic side, I didn't care much about it then. They can be tweaked to get more realistic results though, the C2 engine may be old but it still has decent physics if set up right.
I like the big tires too, specially doing burnouts in slow motion (manual gears + 4x slow).

Oh, ADR! Hey, man! I'm another person that spent probably most of my youth playing around with your cars in C2. Love your stuff. Can't wait to see what you bring to BeamNG. :)

Are there any other games you develop cars for?

    Cool, another C2 fan!

I'm not doing anything else other than BeamNG and Carma 2, at least until Reincarnation comes out. Here's what I'm working on right now for this game:

Jealous is much. My game computer crashed so I can't get BeamNG stuff now. This laptop isn't great at running games and my Steam on this computer isn't accepting my account. Now about the car, does it rust terribly in real time?

Great model. My only criticism thusfar is I think the driveline components need to be beefed up. (PROTIP: Brakestands are a bad idea) It does killer burnouts right up until the drivetrain gives out. Looking at the broken nodes it looks like the rear universal joint isn't quite up to the task of turning Wide-Ovals into noise and smoke. (this is on the 427 Firestone variant). The 350 doesn't seem to have this issue that I've noticed.

As for the real car? ...Well, rustproofing wasn't what it is now back in 1968. They can rot out pretty bad if they aren't taken good care of. (Hence why there aren't many of them left)

Thanks for the feedback. Have you tried with manual transmission? been doing loooong burnouts when testing and I've solved that problem on the latest version. It used to break for some reason, solved it by making the drivetrain beams stronger.

Rust, old car's cancer, as soon as there's a proper skin support, I can make a "junk" version of it.
I've seen many Nova's around here. Not exactly US spec though, they only came with the boring 250 inline 6 engine.

I was using the "Manual-Auto Clutch" setting at the time. (I play with a gamepad).

    Using an xbox360 controller here.

I can do a burnout in the 427 variant, but only if I go easy on it. It breaks fairly quicky, otherwise.

I cannot break the 350 variant with a burnout, but since its an open diff, they're more like one wheeler peelers.

    Otherwise, Love this car. :)

Hmmm I'm wondering if I've fixed that but didn't include it in the final release... damn... I've been trying to replicate that bug but I can't break it.
427 option with either wheels, manual gears, does burnouts in 1st gear for as long as I like, never breaks.

I'll check the files when I get home. Maybe that was a later fix and I forgot to update the zip files.

I'll take the chance to try to fix the squares-thing that shows up on the reflections at a certain distance, too.

Try downloading the nova again? Perhaps?

As for the drivetrain issue. I don't really see it as an issue at all. Under closer inspection, the driveshaft tends to explode under excessive wheelhop. If anything it adds to the realism of the car.
