First off, I just want to say that I hope I don't get snarked at (Like on the BeamNG subreddit) for just finding out about a game that's been around for many years and asking a few dumb questions. I'm not a hard core gamer or PC nut. I started seeing some BeamNG clips showing up on my YouTube a few months ago and started watching them. Found out it was actually a PC game after a bit.

I just have a middle of the road PC made in '22. Dell XPS 8950 (stop laughing) Core i7 4.9Ghz 32 GB DDR5 RAM. Intergrated Intel UHD graphics 770 2GB Adapter RAM @ 1920x1080x60Hz. (Seriously... STOP LAUGHING! :p) Can I even run this game without dumbing down all of the graphics settings until it looks like Minecraft?

And what about cost? Fine I can get the game for 25 bucks. What about all of the MODs/DLC and such? I'm sure there's more to pay for such an expansive (note the spelling) game? I'm basically a casual gamer, so what could I expect if I come in with a budget of say $250.00 not counting the original purchase price? I'm not just in it for the crashing JFTR. I saw a racing clip posted by someone who mentioned they were using a Logitech wheel. I myself have a 920 with the shifter that I use on my Xbox One. (Built a nice little rig for it too based on a TV tray. Go ahead, laugh, for the casual gamer it's pretty cool and portable, I have pics.)

Anyway, thanks for any input y'all have. I'm really curious about this game and want to learn more!
And remember, you were a noob at something more than one time in your life!

Welcome to the forums! Surprisingly, you can actually run BeamNG on integrated graphics; I myself did for about a year and a half on my Dell Latitude with an 8th gen i5 and 16 GB of DDR4. Considering your Dell is better than mine, you should expect to have it run at least as "good" as this:

I was even able to spawn 3 or 4 simplified traffic cars on Italy and still keep the frames above 20fps! Though I'm someone who grew up playing Flight Simulator X at 20fps and the precursors to American Truck Simulator at 5fps, so your tolerance to low frames may vary.

As for additional costs, the devs have no current plans for DLC when the game is still in its pre-release state, and the few paid mods that are actually worth buying are all US$5 or less.

    Thanx for the reply!
I don't game on my PC anymore, and I was kind of figuring I might not be able to run it at all. I'm not picky and I can live with 20 fps. Looks like I may have an excuse to leave my Xbox One to collect some dust!
I'm also surprised to hear BeamNG is still in pre-release. I've seen YouTube clips that go back several years.
