I'm interested in modifying the JBeam to pull more steering lock out of the Regency (suspension_F JBeam is shared between models as a Common) The issue I'm running into is, the pitman and idler cant seem to manipulate the tierods beyond the standard position without deforming As they rotate on a circular axis, their limitation of adjustment isn't rotation, but length. If I extend both, and decrease their In/Out rate, I believe I could get over 50 degrees of lock I also thought of whether the physical representation even affected anything, or if they merely mimicked the invisible hydro's Is there a way to extend the tie rod and pitman arm, to get more length from them? Alternatively, do you suppose it'd be possible to modify, lets say an ETK rack and pinion into the 88 chassis? I've already had a peak behind the curtain, and I apologize if that is prohibited. lmk and I'll stop Keep up the amazing work, I'm eager to see what else you have in store
Yeah this mod has an old style suspension setup with the hydros. I added more steering lock on my end already
So far I can get about 45 degrees, but the toe 'jumps a tooth' and permanantly disfigures the alignment after full lock Everything I'm doing to Suspension_F Steering_Sport: Upping the BeamDeform and BeamStrength with FLT_MAX Adding zeroes to beamSpring and beamDamp, Removed the idler and pitman (have since given it back) Increasing $TrackWidth to 50mm Increasing pitman Scale Z axis from '1' to '2' Do you have any clues as to how I can improve the steering? Im looking through the Barstow files in the CC Drift Steering for how a drift hydro is setup up P.S. The Wiki detailing how JBeams work is a thing of beauty, godbless the BNG Dev Team
Hmm I'm not sure aboit drift steering, this car wasn't built with that high of angle in mind, probably need to relocate some nodes but not sure which ones
Remember he is in BeamNG Team. We must wait. I love this mod too, I hope one day we will got this mod.Even if progress seems dead
For the past few days I have been busy, earlier I worked on the derby configs like I said I would. These are not final yet, I wanted to show them once they are finished, but I guess I can show the current state of them now These needed a lot more new parts than expected, I have a list, I didn't end up using all of them yet and maybe I could need more at some point: - All vanilla derby parts: fuel cell, pointy bumper, hood plates, derby cage, windshield bar - Alternative roll cage - Relocated fuel tank - Cut bumpers and fenders - Bumper limiter chains - Door frame chains - Door bars - Driver seat back bar, dash bar - Reinforced suspension parts - Slip yoke driveshaft - Shorter hood exhaust - 9-wire or welding on all openables - Cut and dished trunk variants - Solid rear springs - Single speed transmission - Relocated batteries, removable coolant hoses and reservoir - Alternative windshield net, backlight bar - Door nets - Roof numbers (random or adjustable in Tuning tab) - Door flags - Simple skins with door + roof number and/or bright paint on driver door - Fender and quarter bolts - Welded engine and body mounts - Roof radiator and no radiator (hoses connected to each other), radiator bars - Extended rims and beadlocks for tire protection - Foam filled and double layer tires - Moonhawk derby bumper After the demo I'm also considering adding extreme pro outlaw derby stuff like armor everywhere, concrete blocks, I-beams, some kind of special tires and stuff. But it's too much work for the demo purposes, would need so many parts
That's why it has the X, it's meant to be excluded from the post (yes, I know that this was probably a joke)
I am not trying to bump, and I know that there is a huge remaster going on, I haven't been on the forums in a while but are you also going to add the improved headlights and taillights or just keep it the same?
When I finish the derby configs I will run final beta testing and then we will see. I'm still not decided whether I want to add better headlights for the demo
anyways why do derby cars have weird stuff like no rad or weird gearboxes, is it just to have something less to worry about?
