How do i do this? I'm trying to make a series of mods, the first being the Doberman Cassette (low end version of sunburst)
Isn't Doberman a German dog breed? Why is the brand American? --- Post updated --- Are you planning to publish this in the repo?
Stupid parody of great dane trailer brand i thought of... oh well --- Post updated --- if i do make it yes
If you want to take up the project, you certainly have my permission! I just didn't want to post it in its given state (still says vivace on the interior screen, lacks USDM parts, etc.) but if you want to then go for it. If you want to credit me you can, but it's not strictly necessary since I won't be guaranteeing any further support.
So i can use this mod as a base for mine?? --- Post updated --- Well, I need some help. It gives me errors bc I am using my custom logo, and its dds format and I cant implement it... --- Post updated --- how do I make this w my custom logo??
In essence, DDS files really only exist to be loaded by a game. To edit them, it's usually easier to convert to png with something like texconv. The big difference from regular images (png, jpg...) is that DDS uses multiple file formats. This is why using GIMP's built in DDS import/export doesn't work with most BeamNG textures. Here is a guide on how to get the proper file format from texconv. Don't worry about actually understanding what any of it means, just remember what format gets listed when you convert from DDS to whatever else and specify that format when you convert back to DDS. It may be worth starting a thread in the Content Creation forums, but I'm sure someone has already explained it a lot better than I can. --- Almost forgot to answer the original question, yep, this mod can be considered public domain at this point. Use it however you like Just remember that technically BeamNG are the original creators of all this content, I just remixed it a bit, but if you're just making more BeamNG mods then that's not an issue.
Ok! Thanks for the useful info. I use paint.net for the textures and for now it's working. --- Post updated --- I will try texconv to see if it's better. --- Post updated --- this is the mod: https://www.beamng.com/threads/c-a-...tobello-automotive-group.104286/#post-1839628
